Our Pilsner Malt Extract is also a our first choice for Belgian style beers. This is the most fermentable malt extract we sell so you if you are looking for dry beer with a crisp finish and less residual maltiness this is your best choice. This also the lightest malt extract we sell as you can see in the photo. Pilsner malt extract is the most fragile malt extract because aging and exposure to high temperature will darken it and change the flavor. Designed to work with: Reverse osmosis (RO), deionized (DI), or distilled water Each pack treats: 6 gallons (23 L) of brewing water For larger batches, add an additional 2 g per gallon Instructions Use only with reverse osmosis (RO), deionized (DI), or distilled water. Add the full contents of this pack to 6 gallons (23 L) of brewing water before mashing. Stir until dissolved. Mash in as usual — no additional acid or salt adjustments are typically required. Proceed with your normal brewing process. Note: These salts are designed to set mash pH without acid additions. Because malt acidity varies, you may wish to verify your mash pH and make small corrections if needed, though this is rarely necessary. Dextrose is used in trace amounts as a processing aid for blend consistency and flow and does not affect fermentation or flavor.

Father-In-Law Pilsner by Charlie "Push Eject" Essers | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! Sweeter than a standard pilsner, but still crisp and refreshing. Guaranteed to satisfy the in-laws Includes 100% Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 4.3% Estimated IBUs: 35-39 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Charlie Essers (AKA Push Eject) has been a longtime friend of MoreBeer, The Brewing Network, and homebrewers in general. Dubbed "one of the nicest guys in homebrewing" by those who know him, Push wanted us to have this recipe that he brews whenever his father-in-law comes for a visit. Push says: "My family has been supportive of all the brewing gadgets and scattered projects including my "dark-beer-phobic" father-in-law. This recipe is an Americanized pilsner that I have evolved for him over the years. Sweeter than a standard pilsner, but still crisp and refreshing, I can't keep this around long in the Summer months." Push began brewing in 1999 after buying a starter homebrew kit as a bad joke for a friend who earned a DUI and getting one for himself as well on impulse at the register. After going all grain in 2002, it was clear that automation was a necessity in his process, and his love of brewing gadgets was born. His first stand was designed and built in 2003 and his first Wort-O-Matic control panel in 2006. These led to the launch of wortomatic.com and a close relationship with MoreBeer! and The Brewing Network. Try Push's beer out and let him know what you think - Hopefully it keeps your father-in-law happy, too! Honey Ale | Gluten Free | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Sorghum Extract
Lightly colored ale with some sweetness from the honey Our Gluten Free recipes use Sorghum extract for the base fermentables Includes Kent Goldings and Northern Brewer hops Estimated ABV: 5.6% Estimated IBUs: 15-18 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer This ale recipe features the use of clover honey, dried rice extract and sorghum. Try adding some dark candi syrup to give it some color. Gluten-Free beers are a different world when it comes to finding a suitable replacement for the base extract. Celiacs are allergic to the hordein protein found in the base malts such as 2-Row and Pilsner malt. They are also allergic to the gliadin protein found in wheat which is the biggest offender of the two proteins. As a homebrewer your goal is to find a suitable fermentable that can emulate the maltiness in beer. Our Gluten Free recipes use Sorghum extract for the base fermentables. Hops aggressively cut through the maltiness from sorghum easily. Hop additions in gluten free beers tend to be 40-50% less than normal. All our gluten-free kits include dry yeast due to the small traces of the gliadin protein found in liquid yeast. (Although lab research has found the yeast metabolize the gliadin protein after fermentation and significantly reduce the ppm present.) Makes 5 gallons Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5.5-6% Estimated Original Gravity:1.055-60 SRM (Color Range): 4-6 IBU's: 15-18

Belgian Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
Belgian Ale will give you a full roundup of phenolic, fruity, clove, plum, and banana flavors Includes Perle and Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 32 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Belgian ales are really about creating a simple yet elegant malt base upon which the unique Belgian yeast strains can create their wonderful, complex flavors. This Belgian Ale is their equivalent of our pale ale in alcoholic strength and body. The difference is that the hops are very subdued and only complimentary where as in many American beers hops can create a majority of the flavor profile. One is not better than the other just different, and we love diversity in beer. Terms used to describe Belgian Ales include phenolic, fruity, with the occasional clove, plum, and banana flavors coming through. Sometimes you just have to try one to understand. In the Dubble and Triple you will have some higher alcohol flavors coming through. This version is less alcoholic and highly drinkable. Any of the four Belgian yeast strains that we carry from Whitelabs could be used in any of the Belgian recipes. They are all excellent in their own right. The malt extract for this kit is made entirely from our German Pilsner Malt, giving it authentic European flavor. We use turbinado sugar to help up the alcohol and dry out the beer during fermentation. The extract version of this kit does NOT include grains. Most of the flavor from this beer is derived from the yeast and fermentation. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.049-53 SRM (Color Range): 4 IBUs: 32 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Pacific Coast Pilsner | West Coast Pilsner | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
West Coast Pilsner combines the crisp, refreshing crushability of a Pilsner with the hoppy wallop of a West Coast IPA Includes Citra®, Amarillo®, Riwaka, and Mosaic® hops Estimated ABV: 5.4% Estimated IBUs: 30 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer The lines between clean, crushable lagers and hop-forward IPAs continue to blur at breweries and taprooms across the country. Whether it’s a hoppy lager or a Cold IPA that’s flying out of the tap handle, one thing is certain: craft beer drinkers love the combination of a crisp, refreshing lager with the heaps of new world hop character that you’d expect from a modern IPA. Pacific Coast Pilsner is our take on one of the styles within this ever-rising sub category of beers—the West Coast Pilsner. The malt bill consists of nearly 100% pilsner malt extract for a super-clean base and bright straw color in the glass. And now for the West Coast spin. Rather than a dash of noble hops, this recipe includes a healthy addition of Pacific Northwest and Southern Hemisphere hops in the boil, whirlpool, and dry hopping. The end result is a true “best of both worlds” beer. Light and easy-drinking, not too bitter, and teeming with citrusy, tropical hop character. Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers. Mosaic® and CRYO HOPS® are registered trademarks owned by Yakima Chief Hops, LLC.

Imperiale Beer Project Symons Galaxy Australian Sparkling Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Imperiale Beer Project Light, easy-drinking body paired up with delicious hop-forward flavors and aromatics Includes 100% Galaxy hops Estimated ABV: 4.4% Estimated IBUs: 21 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer It's a big brewing world out there, make sure you see as much of it as possible! Australian Sparkling Ale is one of those mysterious beer styles that a lot of us had never sampled (or even heard of, really). But its light, easy-drinking body paired up with delicious hop-forward flavors and aromatics make it an outstanding, sessionable brew. Pilsner dominates the malt profile with a dash of White Wheat and Carapils for body and mouthfeel, allowing the hop combination of Galaxy and Strata to really pop. Similar to how the best view of the Milky Way is on a moonless night in the Outback, these hops are on gorgeous display as post boil and dry hop additions, with very little bitterness to cloud the citrus, tropical, and cannabis character they impart. Symons Galaxy was first brewed at Imperiale Beer Project in Brentwood, CA as part of a virtual collaboration with Australian beer historian, Peter Symons. Who better to have at your side (albeit through the computer screen) than the gentleman who literally wrote the BJCP guidelines for the style? This collaborative effort resulted in a unique, modern take on the ASA style—introducing Strata, a non-Australian hop, into the mix to complement the heavy additions of Galaxy hops. Symons Galaxy was a smash hit, and is sure to satisfy any hop head out there. For great reads on historic Australian beers and other topics, check out Peter's collection of books here. Social Kitchen & Brewery Puttin on the Spritz Brut IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Social Kitchen & Brewery Decidedly dry yet sneaky drinkable and thirst-quenching with notes of tart citrus and tropical fruit Includes El Dorado and Mosaic® hops Estimated ABV: 6.9% Estimated IBUs: 24 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer If you're blue, and you don't know where to go to, why don't you go where dry beer sits? Puttin' on the Spritz! There's a new style on the scene that has everyone tapping their toes, and we're excited to bring you a beer from the man who started the tune. In our latest addition to the BrewMaster Series lineup we have one of the original Brut IPA's - Puttin' on the Spritz! This hybrid IPA is the brainchild of Kim Sturdavant of Social Kitchen & Brewery in San Francisco, California. We first met Kim on our journey to brew with and understand the amyglucosidase enzyme (the signature ingredient responsible for a Brut's dry character). Kim, being the stand-up fella that he is, was kind enough to not only share his knowledge of the AMG enzyme, but also the very recipe that shook up the brew scene and inspired countless iterations of the style. Despite its dry character, Puttin' on the Spritz is sneaky drinkable with a thirst-quenching profile. El Dorado and Mosaic® hops impart tart citrus and tropical fruit notes, while a malt bill primarily featuring pilsner DME and flaked corn makes for an ultra-clean finish with almost no caramel or overt malty flavors. Crisp, dry, clean, crushable. Curious about Brut IPA's? Check out There and Back Again, A Brut IPA Tale! In this article, our own Vito Delucchi takes us along on his quest to unlock the mysteries of the amyloglucosidase enzyme and discover the best methods for brewing Brut IPA's. Also be sure to check out Kim's Brut IPA website where he discusses the philosophies, techniques, and history of this emerging style. Mia Wallace Maibock by Gary Glass | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Liquid Malt Extract
Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! Paler in color and more hop-forward than a traditional bock Includes Magnum and Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 6.7% Estimated IBUs: 54-58 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Gary Glass started homebrewing in 1992, shortly after tasting his first homebrew while attending while attending college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Gary brews on a home-built HERMS system, and he's never brewed the same recipe twice and can't brew any recipe without some kind of tweaking. Gary is a BJCP judge who has judge in many competitions including the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival. Gary is also now president of the American Homebrewers Association! Gary holds a Masters Degree in American Diplomacy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. When not homebrewing, he enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and backpacking in the Rocky Mountains. He's also into gardening (his Cascades finally produced a good crop this year!), home improvement projects, and building furniture. Gary lives in Longmont, Colorado with his wife Erin, who fully supports his brewing habits she bought him a conical fermenter and is encouraging him to install taps in their family room. He knows you are jealous. Gary is looking forward to teaching his daughter, who is due in November, to brew someday. Gary enlightens us on how to authentically brew his beer: "This recipe can be brewed as either a Maibock or a Belgian strong ale. The beer was originally brewed as a 10.5 gallon batch split into two carboys with yeast slurry from previously brewed pilsner. To accurately recreate the Belgian strong ale, one should accidentally pour hot wort (due to user error with a counter-flow chiller) onto lager yeast slurry, being sure to thoroughly cook the yeast. Chill, then pitch a vial of Belgian ale yeast. The Maibock came out great, the Belgian strong even better. Of course, if you don't feel like attempting to cook yeast to make this beer, a nice big starter of Belgian ale yeast should do the trick." Sounds great to us! Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.067-73 SRM (Color Range): 7 IBUs: 54-58 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.7% This kit is not available in a Dry Malt Extract option. Belgian Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain
A malty red ale with a very hop-forward structure Includes Magnum, Northern Brewer, Willamette and Cascade hops Estimated ABV: 5.9% Estimated IBUs: 31-35 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Ale Industries was the second brewery to open in Concord, and just happened to be right next door to us (man, we were lucky)! Their first beer, a hybrid Witbier called "Orange Kush" (thereafter called Golden State of Mind) , is more malty and aromatic than most commercial wits are. The second beer, Rye'd Piper, is a malty red ale that has a very hop-forward structure, but not over the top, like some reds can be. Fire In The Hole | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Mini Mash
Spicy flavor and firm bitterness supported by a velvety-smooth body Includes Magnum and Columbus hops Estimated ABV: 6.6% Estimated IBUs: 40-44 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer You've never had this beer before, and, until very recently, neither had we. Imagine: a sexy, red color, spicy flavor, velvety-smooth body, terrific head, plus an aroma you could eat, all wrapped up with a firm bitterness. How did we do it? The creative shotgun approach! Continually throw enough stuff into the mix and, eventually, you score a win like this one. We started with a basic recipe similar to our famous Irish Red, but added Rye as well. A brash move? You bet! But we didn't stop there. We've added Magnum and Columbus hops everywhere, including into the carboy for dry hopping. If you want to go for a Home Run, add 1oz of the included French Oak chips after the first week of fermentation. Witbier Belgian Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Mini Mash
Light, crisp flavor spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander Includes 100% Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 6% Estimated IBUs: 16-20 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A unique Belgian Ale with moderate bitterness from early kettle additions of Saaz hops. This beer is spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander, which lends a surprisingly pleasant flavor and aroma. The grain bill, (grain portion of recipe) includes Oats and Flaked Barley, which, when combined with a very special non-flocculating yeast leaves a cloudy, almost-white appearance. Hence, the name wit (white in Flemish). This is a very refreshing style that has a light, crisp flavor. There are some phenolic flavors as well, as you would find in some Belgian Abbey Ales or even German Hefeweizen. Hoegarden and Celis White are commercial examples that represent this style. Irish Red Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Mini Mash
Our Irish Red Ale recipe is hard to nail down as any specific style—similar to a big Amber Ale, but it's so unusual it does not really fit within any category. Malt character utterly dominates this beer's flavor profile, containing dark Crystal malts, including Special B, and a pinch of Roasted Barley for a deep, red color and a very distinctive caramel flavor. Irish Red Ale has been one of our most popular ingredient kits for many years, and continues to receive a lot of positive feedback from satisfied customers to this day. If you're going to be venturing into new realms of taste discovery, this is a winning ticket we can solidly recommend! Compared to the Extract version of this kit, the Mini Mash recipe swaps out some of the malt extract for 2-row malt. And the special instructions included with the kit will walk you through conducting a miniature mash that goes beyond the typical steeping grain process in standard Extract recipes. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity:1.047-52 SRM (Color Range): 20 IBUs: 39-43 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar.
