Do I need prior experience?
Not at all! These kits are incredibly easy to make at home, even without any prior experience. If you can follow simple recipe instructions and keep your equipment clean, you can make amazing wine.
Do I need equipment?
Yes. The wine kits include the juice, yeast, and additives needed for the wine itself. You will need a basic winemaking equipment starter kit (a fermenter, carboy, siphon, corker, and bottles) to actually brew it.
How many bottles does a kit make?
Almost all standard wine kits make 6 gallons of finished wine. This yields roughly 24 standard (750ml) wine bottles.
What is the difference between 4-week and 6-week kits?
4-week kits contain less concentrated juice and more water, making a lighter, easy-drinking wine that is ready to consume faster. 6-week and 8-week kits have a higher pure juice content, resulting in fuller-bodied, more complex wines that benefit significantly from aging in the bottle.
