Light, crisp flavor spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander Includes 100% Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 6% Estimated IBUs: 16-20 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A unique Belgian Ale with moderate bitterness from early kettle additions of Saaz hops. This beer is spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander, which lends a surprisingly pleasant flavor and aroma. The grain bill, (grain portion of recipe) includes Oats and Flaked Barley, which, when combined with a very special non-flocculating yeast leaves a cloudy, almost-white appearance. Hence, the name wit (white in Flemish). This is a very refreshing style that has a light, crisp flavor. There are some phenolic flavors as well, as you would find in some Belgian Abbey Ales or even German Hefeweizen. Hoegarden and Celis White are commercial examples that represent this style. You've never had this beer before, and, until very recently, neither had we. Imagine: a sexy, red color, spicy flavor, velvety-smooth body, terrific head, plus an aroma you could eat, all wrapped up with a firm bitterness. How did we do it? The creative shotgun approach! Continually throw enough stuff into the mix and, eventually, you score a win like this one. We started with a basic recipe similar to our famous Irish Red, but added Rye as well. A brash move? You bet! But we didn't stop there. We've added Magnum and Columbus hops everywhere, including into the carboy for dry hopping. If you want to go for a Home Run, add 1oz of the included French Oak chips after the first week of fermentation.

This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Imperiale Beer Project Light, easy-drinking body paired up with delicious hop-forward flavors and aromatics Includes 100% Galaxy hops Estimated ABV: 4.4% Estimated IBUs: 21 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer It's a big brewing world out there, make sure you see as much of it as possible! Australian Sparkling Ale is one of those mysterious beer styles that a lot of us had never sampled (or even heard of, really). But its light, easy-drinking body paired up with delicious hop-forward flavors and aromatics make it an outstanding, sessionable brew. Pilsner dominates the malt profile with a dash of White Wheat and Carapils for body and mouthfeel, allowing the hop combination of Galaxy and Strata to really pop. Similar to how the best view of the Milky Way is on a moonless night in the Outback, these hops are on gorgeous display as post boil and dry hop additions, with very little bitterness to cloud the citrus, tropical, and cannabis character they impart. Symons Galaxy was first brewed at Imperiale Beer Project in Brentwood, CA as part of a virtual collaboration with Australian beer historian, Peter Symons. Who better to have at your side (albeit through the computer screen) than the gentleman who literally wrote the BJCP guidelines for the style? This collaborative effort resulted in a unique, modern take on the ASA style—introducing Strata, a non-Australian hop, into the mix to complement the heavy additions of Galaxy hops. Symons Galaxy was a smash hit, and is sure to satisfy any hop head out there. For great reads on historic Australian beers and other topics, check out Peter's collection of books here. Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.
Produce even tastier beers with your Speidel Braumeister by limiting oxygen exposure during the brewing process. Exposure to oxygen in the brewing process can impact the flavor of the final beer and negatively affect the flavor retention and shelf life. This is especially crucial for lighter, malt-forward beers that have less hops, such as lagers, pilsners and wheat beers. With the Low Oxygen kit you can minimize oxygen exposure during mashing, cooling, and transferring to your fermenter. Make the malt character in your beers shine brighter and last longer!

Phil Sutton, owner and head brewer at Skyscraper Brewing Company, was in our local homebrew club, D.O.Z.E. After taking the American Brewers Guild program, he realized brewing was what he wanted to do, and left NorCal to head down south and open up Skyscraper. Phil says, "I started out, like everyone, as a homebrewer. Living in Salt Lake City in 1999, I got sick of paying $13 for a six pack of Sam Adams, and some homebrewer friends got me started with my first batch, a hybrid Bohemian Pilsner that was fantastic! When I got sick of my job writing software, I attended the American Brewers Guild program, worked for BJ's for a year, and then struck out on my own." Most of you have probably already seen the brewery in a certain cellular phone ad, where two guys are trying to sell beer - the guy on the forklift was Phil himself! His Bulldozer Hefe is Phil's flagship beer, and he was kind enough to let us in on the recipe. Next time you are in Southern California, be sure to put Skyscraper on your list of must-visits! Kim, being the stand-up fella that he is, was kind enough to not only share his knowledge of the AMG enzyme, but also the very recipe that shook up the brew scene and inspired countless iterations of the style. Despite its dry character, Puttin' on the Spritz is sneaky drinkable with a thirst-quenching profile. El Dorado and Mosaic® hops impart tart citrus and tropical fruit notes, while a malt bill primarily featuring pilsner DME and flaked corn makes for an ultra-clean finish with almost no caramel or overt malty flavors. Gary Glass started homebrewing in 1992, shortly after tasting his first homebrew while attending while attending college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Gary brews on a home-built HERMS system, and he?s never brewed the same recipe twice and can't brew any recipe without some kind of tweaking. Gary is a BJCP judge who has judge in many competitions including the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival.
Gary holds a Masters Degree in American Diplomacy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. When not homebrewing, he enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and backpacking in the Rocky Mountains. He's also into gardening (his Cascades finally produced a good crop this year!), home improvement projects, and building furniture.
Gary lives in Longmont, Colorado with his wife Erin, who fully supports his brewing habit, bought him a conical fermenter and is encouraging him to install taps in their family room. He knows you are jealous. Gary is looking forward to teaching his daughter, who is due in November, to brew someday.
Gary enlightens us on how to authentically brew his beer: "This recipe can be brewed as either a Maibock or a Belgian strong ale. The beer was originally brewed as a 10.5 gallon batch split into two carboys with yeast slurry from previously brewed pilsner. To accurately recreate the Belgian strong ale, one should accidentally pour hot wort (due to user error with a counter-flow chiller) onto lager yeast slurry, being sure to thoroughly cook the yeast. Chill, then pitch a vial of Belgian ale yeast. The Maibock came out great, the Belgian strong even better. Of course, if you don't feel like attempting to cook yeast to make this beer, a nice big starter of Belgian ale yeast should do the trick." Sounds great to us!

The BrewLab Pro kit is made to order. The manufacturer's lead time is 40-60 days from when the order is placed. Nail down your water adjustments with the Lamotte BrewLab Pro water analysis kit. Developed with pro brewers in mind, this kit measures 11 of the most important factors in the brewing process. Knowing what's in your water and how to adjust the mineral profile will take your brews to the next level. After all, water is the main ingredient in beer! Test for 11 Essential Factors Chloride Sulfate Alkalinity Total Hardness Calcium Hardness Magnesium Hardness Sodium pH Temperature Total Dissolved Solids Dissolved Oxygen This kit was developed in cooperation with John Palmer, author of Water, A Comprehensive Guide for Brewers. Check out Palmer's Brewing Water Adjustment App, currently available for iOS devices and coming soon to Android. Alkalinity:
Alkalinity is generally a problem in brewing water. Alkalinity is the carbonate and bicarbonate content of the water, and acts to raise the pH of the mash and beer. Water hardness can offset the alkalinity, and for that reason both parameters are typically measured as “Calcium Carbonate” in order to determine the net effect. Chloride:
The chloride ion acts to bring out the sweetness and fullness of the malt flavor, much like table salt does for food. Craft brewers often add calcium chloride to brewing water for Pilsner and other lagers. Dissolved Oxygen:
Dissolved oxygen can have both a positive and negative impact on beer, depending on the brewing stage. While fermentation itself is an anaerobic process (occurs in the absence of air), yeast cells do require oxygen for growth. Excessive DO can lead to rapid fermentations and excessive yeast growth, resulting in higher ester production, giving fruitier flavors. It can also lead to permanent chill haze, increased beer astringency, and an increase in color intensity, largely due to the oxidation of polyphenols. Hardness:
Water hardness is a brewer’s friend because calcium and magnesium are important ions in many biochemical reactions during mashing and fermentation. Calcium: Helps prevent enzymes from denaturing and extends their activity in the mash, promoting clarity, flavor, and stability in the finished beer. Magnesium: In small amounts Mg is an important yeast nutrient. The better the “yeast ferment”, the cleaner the alcohol produced. pH:
The chemistry of brewing and cooking is complex, and while knowing the mineral content of the water is a critical first step to predicting the impact of the water to the beer, the best way is to measure it, and that is where pH comes into the picture. The mineral content of the water directly affects the pH of the mash, and the pH of the mash affects the entire brewing process—both in process performance and beer flavor. In order to consistently brew great beer, the pH of the mash, wort, and beer should be monitored at every step. Sodium:
Sodium acts in concert with chloride to enhance the sweetness and fullness of the malt, but just as in food and cooking, too much can oversalt the beer and result in salty or metallic flavors. Sodium is ubiquitous in water supplies and mineral additions, so it is important for the brewer to know how much the water has before any treatments are planned. Sodium can be easily determined by calculation from the results of the other tests. Sulfate:
Sulfate and chloride ions in water affect the flavor balance of the beer, from hoppy to malty. The sulfate ion acts to accentuate the hoppiness and dryness of the beer, making it more crisp tasting. Craft brewers often add calcium sulfate to their brewing water for pale ales and IPAs. Total Dissolved Solids:
The measurement of total dissolved solids allows the brewer to quickly determine if there has been a shift or change in a water source or brewing process by measuring all solids in solution. It can also provide a valuable quality assurance check on demineralization processes and waste treatment effectiveness.

MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. Track your fermentation progress without ever disturbing your wort! The Tilt Hydrometer and Thermometer is added directly to your fermenter to provide real-time data on the current gravity and temperature of your wort, eliminating the hassle and potential contamination that comes from opening your fermenter to pull samples. The Tilt is especially useful for brewers fermenting in glass carboys or plastic fermenters that don't have spigots for sample taking. Designed for homebrewing, the Tilt hydrometer lets you instantly read your brew's specific gravity and temperature on your compatible Apple iPhone/iPad or Android smartphone/tablet or Tilt Pi. Most Bluetooth 4.0+ devices will work with the Tilt. You can then optionally log data to the cloud using their free Google Sheets template or other 3rd party cloud platforms. Tilt's goal is to help homebrewers brew better beer. The Tilt hydrometer allows you to check the specific gravity and temperature of your beer while it's fermenting, without ever having to open your fermenter or pour out any of your precious brew. This makes brewing more consistent and easier to track. Here are some of the new features of the Tilt: Range: Better reception and range. With the increased transmission power your Tilt will send data through larger, thicker-walled fermenters. Precision: Upgraded sensors. With an improved temperature sensor and accelerometer your Tilt will operate with more precision. Efficiency: Reduced power consumption so more brews, less battery changing. New Look: Newly designed custom circuit board and harness. If using multiple Tilt hydrometers for different batches of fermenting beer you must use a different color for each batch. The app will not read multiple hydrometers of the same color. Each Tilt comes calibrated and ready to go with a pre-installed battery that lasts 12-24 months depending on usage. Just download the free app, sanitize your Tilt, drop it in your fermenter, and start taking readings with your phone, tablet, or Tilt Pi. The specific gravity is accurate +/- 0.002 within the Tilt's range of 0.990 to 1.120. The thermometer is accurate +/- 1°F (+/- 0.5°C). Download the free Tilt app at the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or get the free Tilt Pi download.
Precise hydrometer for measuring the sugar content and progress of fermentation in wine ferments. Comes with a thermometer/correction scale built-in. Please Note: Due to the large size of this hydrometer, it does not work with our standard 11" or 14" hydrometer jars. We recommend using our 500mL Graduated Cylinder (MT636D) with this hydrometer.
Narrow range brix hydrometer that allows for highly accurate measurement. These hydrometers are excellent for use in the middle and towards the end of wine fermentation.
It features a built-in thermometer and correction scale for temperature correction of the reading. Thermometer measures a range of 30-150 F (0-50 C) with 1 degree resolution.
These brix hydrometers are calibrated at 68 F (20 C).
Our new FTSs quick disconnect kit is the perfect way to increase the efficiency of your cooling system while also making it easier to detach your fermenter's chiller coil for easy cleaning.
The neoprene sleeve both insulates and wicks away condensation to reduce temp loss in your FTSs tubing. The sleeve is 10 feet in total length and can be cut to custom lengths to adapt to any FTSs setup. Once cut, use the included velcro strip to secure the sleeve to the quick disconnect fitting.
The quick disconnect fitting was custom tooled for Ss Brewtech with 3/8" hose barbs and features all EPDM seals, which maintain sealing properties at low temperatures. In addition, they include all stainless internal hardware, and integrated valves in both the male and female components to prevent spilling. These fittings work great with either glycol or chilled water from a cooler.

Many factors can be the difference between good and great beer, and temperature control slots in near the top of the list. A stable temperature throughout fermentation keeps the yeast happy, and helps prevent the off flavors produced when they become stressed.
In order to cool with the Grainfather Conical Fermenter, you'll also need the Conical Fermenter Temperature Controller (FE233). If your target temperature is below the temperature of the wort in your fermenter, the Cooling Pump Kit will pump ice cold water through the double walled insulated interior, cooling your wort in the process.
Connect the included couplers and insulated hoses to the Conical Fermenter, lower the submersible pump into a cooler with cold water (add ice as needed) and pump it through the insulated cooling sleeve of the Conical Fermenter body.
Conical Fermenter Cooling Pump (submersible)
T-section power connector
2 x brass couplers (with self-sealing hose connections)

Tell them its also great for picnics, can be used for killer lemonade stands, and as a mocktail bar at kids parties. We could go on, but now we got you thinking. Made from rich Walnut with heavy duty hardware, the BumperBar is handsome and rugged. The rear liquour tray holds bottles up to 1.5L. The removable rubber mat and garnish tray can both be placed in the dishwasher for easy clean up. Defrost Kits are electric heating elements made of a set of thin metallic heating rods that are fitted into the suitable slots, under the coil of the thermo-fan. This layout simplifies the installation and guarantees homogenous dispersion of heat over the entire coil for even defrosting. The Defrost Kit melts the iced condensate, which accumulates on the airways when the fan is used for room cooling with Glycol-water set below the freezing point. Periodical defrosting enables the use of the thermo-fan for setting up cold-rooms, which are kept at low temperatures. The melted condense water drips to the fan's collection tray for drainage.
When using a Defrost Kit, it is required to use the FermFlex-Defrost controller, which controls both the fan-valve for cooling and the heating element for defrosting.
A vertical stand with lever operation for Foil Spinners. Did you purchase a benchtop foil spinner only to find it difficult to work with? Do you have a bruise on your hip from supporting bottle after bottle at the end of the day? Are you ruining more foils than you'd like to from mis-feeds? If you answered yes to any of these questions then this is just the product you've been waiting for! Mounting your Foil Spinner vertically makes the application of foils faster, easier and more accurate. Simply adjust the bottle seat to the right length depending on the diameter of your bottle and adjust the spinner height so that when you pull the lever down the rollers completely cover the foil and you're good to go! Our stand should work with most spinners available, but please double check the bolt pattern shown below against the plate on the bottom of your spinner or the footings on the motor. You will need to source your own bolts for attaching to the stand, as the size, pitch and depth of the hole in your motor/mounting plate will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Specifications: Made from 304 Stainless Steel Bolt Holes are spaced 90mm W x 110mm H Shaft Height: 900mm *Please Note: The drawing at the right shows the stand with a spinner mounted to it. This SKU is to purchase the stand by itself. If you would like to purchase a vertically mounted complete unit, please see W650 - Upright Foil Spinner.

For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast.
Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.
