Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Includes everything you need to brew 5 gallons of delicious beer at home! High quality 5-gallon stainless steel kettle perfect for brewing Fermonster brand brewing fermenter is clear so you see fermentation activity and eliminates the need to siphon with built-in spigot Step-by-Step instruction pamphlet fine-tuned over 20 years for easy success Your choice of recipe kit included Make brewing fun and easy with our new Deluxe Homebrewing Starter Kit only from MoreBeer!. This beer brewing starter kit includes the nearly indestructible Fermonster fermenter, a five gallon stainless steel brewing kettle, an ingredient kit of your choice and all the time-tested equipment you need to brew up 5 gallons / 2 cases of beer per batch. With the Deluxe Homebrew Starter Kit, you can choose from several recipes including the American Ale Hoppy Pale Ale, Irish Red Ale, I Heart IPA, and German Hefeweizen. The Fermonster Fermenter - A Huge Upgrade Over Standard Buckets or Glass "Carboy" Water BottlesUnlike buckets or glass carboys, the Fermonster fermenter was designed for brewing beer. It is made from tough, clear, virgin grade PET plastic so you can see the magic of fermentation. Unlike glass it will never break and shatter if dropped. It represents a huge upgrade over traditional buckets because these fermenters are much less likely to get scratched. Scratches can hold bacteria that can cause off flavors in the beer. The Fermonster comes with a built-in spigot that eliminates a long time issue in homebrewing of having to start a siphon to transfer your beer to the bottling bucket after fermentation is over. The large 4" lid allows for easily adding yeast, hops, or other additions. We also really love the molded-in level markers that tell you exactly when you have reached your desired volume. Five Gallon Stainless Kettle - It's Bigger Than What You Have in Your KitchenOver the years we found that many brewers thought they had a big enough kettle. They would go home only to return and buy our five gallon stainless steel brewing kettle. To make brewing easy, we've discounted our five gallon brewing kettle to be able to include it from the start! Plus, because it is made of food-grade stainless steel, you don’t have to worry about any off flavors imparted by your boil kettle. We Don't Skimp on Cleaning and SanitizingProper cleaning and sanitizing is one of the core tenants of making great beer. Some starter kits utilize an all-in-one cleaner/sanitizer that does neither job well. We’ve included the best-selling sanitizer for brewing, Star San. We also include Craftmeister oxygen-based cleaning tablets that make cleaning your Fermonster Fermenter a breeze. Other Upgrades That Make Brewing EasierWe’ve also made a few items standard that really make the brew day easier including a thermometer for temperature monitoring and a hydrometer with testing jar for measuring sugar levels. Our reusable mesh bags allow for the easy removal of spent grain and hops at the end of the boil. The included stainless spoon is a really nice upgrade over plastic when you are stirring boiling liquids. Easy, How-To Instructions & an Actual 800#We've taught hundreds of thousands of people how to brew in over 25 years. Our instructions are clear and simple to follow and will have you making great beer with batch number one. If you have any questions, call our on-staff brewmasters at 1-800-600-0033. In an age where 800-numbers and real customer service is going away, you can still call us and ask a question. Recipe Options: American Ale produces a light colored, hoppy Pale Ale that puts the beloved Cascade hop on full display. Cascade hops are one of the classic American hop varieties, and we love them for their citrus, grapefruit character. Irish Red Ale is a genre-defying brew that continues to be one of our best-selling kits year after year. You'll love the deep, red color and distinct caramel flavor. I Heart IPA was inspired by Bell's Two Hearted Ale, a universally adored IPA that features front-to-back hop additions of Centennial. Malt character takes a back seat to the pungent quality of citrus and lemon notes. German Hefeweizen has a lovely blond color and distinct hazy appearance in the glass. This kit uses 100% Bavarian Wheat malt extract with just a dash of Northern Brewer hops for bittering. This Kit Includes: 6 Gallon Fermonster fermenter with spigot, stopper and airlock 5 Gallon Stainless Steel Kettle Food-Grade Bottling Bucket with spigot Mesh Bags for steeping grain and hops on brew day Thermometer for easy temperature management Hydrometer for making key sugar readings Transfer Tubing Bottling Wand with shut off valve Sturdy Bottle Capper Bottle Caps Bottle Cleaning Brush Star San Sanitizer for true sanitization Large Stainless Steel Spoon for mixing Craftmeister Cleaning Tablets for easy cleaning Your choice of recipe kit with yeast included Everything You Need to Brew in One Box: This kit includes everything you need to start brewing amazing beer at home, all in one easy to wrap box. With our simple to follow step-by-step instructions and included choice of a delicious recipe kit, you will be brewing up your first batch of beer in no time at all. Don't settle for less when picking your homebrewing kit, pick MoreBeer! because we give you More! Fermonster Carboy - 6 gal. With Spigot: The Ported Fermonster is a brand-new fermenter designed specifically for fermentation. MoreBeer! gave product feedback for over 2 years of development and we think they nailed the design. The large lid allows for easy filling and makes hop or oak additions a breeze. The smooth sides are fantastic for sanitization - no ribs or texture to collect yeast or bacteria. The punted bottom allows sediment to collect to the sides so that you can siphon liquid from the center. Because they are made from virgin PET plastic, they're nearly unbreakable and a lot safer than similar glass carboys. Also notice the conical top which reduces surface area if you plan to store beer or wine long term. Five Gallon Stainless Steel Kettle: Made of high-quality stainless steel that is anything but cheap. The 0.5-mm thick sides and bottom are more than thick enough for this amount of liquid, and the riveted stainless steel handles on the kettle’s body make it easy to carry, even when filled. This 5-gallon kettle can safely hold up to 3 gallons of wort while boiling, making it the perfect size for brewing right in your own home! Great Customer Service Since 1995: As avid homebrewers ourselves, we strive to help new brewers make great beer right from the first batch. We have knowledgeable homebrewers ready to help you 6 days a week (Mon-Sat) on our Customer Service team. Got a question? We are glad to answer it. Have a problem? Let us help you. 7.9 Gallon Bucket Fermenter Kit | Food Grade Plastic Fermenter | Wine Kit Fermenter | Includes Lid, Spigot, Airlock
Extra-large food-grade plastic bucket fermenter perfect for wine kits or high krausen beers like Hefeweizen Almost a full 2 gallons larger than standard 6-gallon buckets giving you plenty more room for active fermentations and larger batches of wine or beer Comes complete with lid, airlock grommet, 3-piece airlock, and plastic spigot with rotating tap (see note below) If you do not require a spigot or other accessories, the 7.9-gallon bucket can also be purchased by itself This is a 7.9 gallon plastic fermenter complete with lid, airlock, and spigot. The rotating spigot allows you to push the bucket deeper into your counter or benchtop without obstruction. When it's time to transfer out, bring the bucket to the edge of your counter and rotate the spigot to point down. These buckets are made from Polypropylene and are ideal for all types of fermentations, especially beers with high krausen. Why Polypropylene? These buckets are made from polypropylene as it is less porous and significantly smoother than other HDPE fermenters. HDPE is porous and can harbor microbial activity making it more difficult to clean and sanitize. Being less porous, polypropylene also does not absorb aroma like HDPE so there is less flavor carry over from batch to batch. Kit Includes: 7.9 gallon plastic bucket Plastic lid with hole and grommet Airlock Spigot Please note: the spigot hole comes pre-molded into the bucket and needs to be drilled out before installing the spigot. We recommend using a 5/8" drill bit and taking care not to strip the female threads that accept the spigot. The spigot includes a back nut that won't be needed—simply remove the back nut and thread in the spigot with the gasket in between the neck of the spigot and the bucket. The lid forms a very tight seal and requires a decent amount of downward force to lock in place.

Witbier Belgian Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain
Light, crisp flavor spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander Includes 100% Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 6% Estimated IBUs: 16-20 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A very unique Belgian Ale. This recipe has moderate bitterness from early kettle additions of Saaz hops. This beer is spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander which lends a surprisingly pleasant flavor and aroma. The grain bill includes Oats and Flaked Barley which when combined with a very special non-flocculating yeast leaves a cloudy, almost white appearance. Hence the name wit which means white. This is a very refreshing style that has a light, crisp flavor. There are some phenolic flavors as well, like you would find in some Belgian Abbey Ales and even German Hefeweizen. Hoegarden or Celis White would be some commercial examples that represent this style. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.060-66 SRM (Color Range): 5 IBUs: 16-20 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”. Please check status notes below when selecting a size option to see if it is In Stock or tagged as PreBook. We will automatically ship this to you when we receive more inventory. The only equipment kit we offer for all-grain brewing right from the start! Includes the DigiMash upgrade kit so you can perform a mash in the DigiBoil electric kettle No expensive gas burner or heavy-duty brewing kettle required! Easy-to-use digital controller maintains your set temperatures automatically Step-by-Step instruction pamphlet fine-tuned over 20 years for easy success The Premium Electric All Grain Homebrewing Starter Kit represents the absolute best value you’ll find in all-grain equipment kits! What puts this kit ahead of the pack is the DigiBoil electric kettle with DigiMash upgrade, which combine for the most affordable and approachable introduction to all-grain brewing. Electric systems are becoming more and more popular in homebrewing, and for good reason. Most home brewing kits require a kitchen stove or outdoor propane burner, but with the DigiBoil you can make great beer just about anywhere you can find a power socket. The DigiBoil’s compact design makes this kit the ideal choice for those that want to brew indoors and not take up a lot of space. We also include the 6-gallon Fermonster fermenter, copper wort chiller, beer recipe kit of your choice, and all the time-tested brewing equipment you need to make beer at home. If purchased piece-by-piece this kit would cost well over $500, so you can feel confident that you’re getting all of the included equipment at the lowest price possible! Electric Brewing Typical home brewing starter kits set you up to brew your first batch of beer on the kitchen stove. This may lower the price tag but brewers will naturally progress beyond the kitchen to an outdoor gas burner or electric brewing system. Electric brewing systems have several advantages, firstly being that they do not require propane so there is no chance of running out of gas mid-brew. Secondly, electric kettles use a built-in temperature probe and digital controller to automatically maintain temperatures. This gives you a precise level of control that gas systems rarely match. Finally, the DigiBoil electric kettle is extremely compact and is the ideal choice for brewers that have space constraints or live in an area where brewing outdoors isn't an option year-round. 110V vs. 220V The DigiBoil electric kettle comes in two power options, 110 volt and 220 volt. The 110V unit features a standard 3-prong plug and will work with most US household power outlets. The 220V unit features a NEMA 6-30R plug, typically only used with large household appliances such as washer/dryer outlets. Both power options are perfectly suitable for brewing. The 110V option provides greater flexibility, allowing you to move your brewery from the kitchen to the garage, basement, or outdoor patio with ease. If you have convenient access to 220V power, the 220V model will significantly reduce heating times and provide a more vigorous boil. All Grain Brewing Extract brewing is the most popular method for beginner brewers, but all-grain is really where it’s at. Instead of using concentrated malt extracts, the fermentable sugars are produced by steeping malted grains in hot water for an extended period of time, a process called ‘mashing’. All-grain brewing offers far greater control over the character of the finished beer, allowing the brewer to finely adjust the color, body, and malt profile. This kit is also perfectly suited for extract brewing, so if you find all-grain brewing a bit too complicated at first you can always switch methods. Your system will be ready for all-grain whenever you're ready to step back up! Rather start out with Extract brewing? Check out the extract-only version of the Premium Electric Homebrewing Starter Kit. Take a pale ale and add more malt, more grain, and more hops. Expect more alcohol and a more pronounced hop character. Brown Porter is a smooth, easy drinking beer. 7.9 Gallon Bucket | Food Grade Plastic Fermenter | Wine Kit Fermenter | Bucket Only
Extra-large food-grade plastic bucket perfect for fermenting wine kits or high krausen beers like Hefeweizen Almost a full 2 gallons larger than standard 6-gallon buckets giving you plenty more room for active fermentations and larger batches of wine or beer The bucket comes solid and does not require a spigot but features pre-molded threads where a spigot can be added if you so choose To add a spigot, you will need to drill out the wall at the back of the spigot hole—we recommend pairing with our Plastic Spigot w/ Adjustable Spout Bucket only without lid or spigot. See here for optional lid or full fermentation kit A 30L (7.9 gal) food-grade plastic bucket. Ideal for all fermentations, but especially ideal for wine kits, beers that tend to have a high krausen (Hefe) and any fermentation that is slightly too large for your 6-gallon pail. These buckets come molded with a threaded hole for a spigot to screw into. Our FE356 spigot threads in perfectly. Approximate Dimensions: 15.75" Wide x 16.25" Tall Click here for optional lid (FE357B) or full fermentation kit (FE357). Please note: the spigot hole comes pre-molded into the bucket and needs to be drilled out before installing the spigot. KegLand Part number: KL0158

Easy-to-use digital controller maintains your set temperature automatically Step-by-Step instruction pamphlet fine-tuned over 20 years for easy success The Premium Electric Homebrewing Starter Kit is one of the most approachable starter kits we’ve ever offered and represents the absolute best value you’ll find! The defining piece of this kit is the DigiBoil electric kettle. Extract Brewing Extract brewing is the simplest process for making beer and is therefore the most popular method for beginners. Powdered or liquid malt extract is added to water to make a sweet solution loaded with fermentable sugars that yeast will later turn into alcohol. The mixture is then brought to a boil and hops are added for flavoring. This simple method allows novice brewers to focus on learning the overall process of brewing while still making delicious beer. If you’re interested in all-grain brewing, check out the Premium Electric All Grain Home Brewing Kit. This version of the kit includes the DigiMash upgrade, which can always be purchased later when you’re ready to advance. The Fermonster Fermenter - A Huge Upgrade Over Standard Buckets or Glass "Carboy" Water Bottles Unlike buckets or glass carboys, the Fermonster fermenter was designed for brewing beer. We Don't Skimp on Cleaning and Sanitizing Proper cleaning and sanitizing is one of the core tenants of making great beer. Other Upgrades That Make Brewing Easier We’ve also made a few items standard that really make the brew day easier including a thermometer for temperature monitoring and a hydrometer with testing jar for measuring sugar levels. Our reusable mesh bags allow for the easy removal of spent grain and hops at the end of the boil. The included stainless spoon is a really nice upgrade over plastic when you are stirring boiling liquids. Easy, How-To Instructions & an Actual 800# We've taught hundreds of thousands of people how to brew in over 25 years. Blonde Ale is a great starter beer for those who are new to craft beer. Blonde ales are an easy drinking ale, low in esters, balanced with enough hop character to accentuate the malt profile. American IPA is like a Pale Ale on steroids. Take a pale ale and add more malt, more grain, and more hops. Expect more alcohol and a more pronounced hop character. Brown Porter is a smooth, easy drinking beer. If you like maltiness emphasized with a hint of chocolate roastiness and subtle caramel nuttiness this is the beer for you. German Hefeweizen has a lovely blond color and distinct hazy appearance in the glass. This kit uses 100% Bavarian Wheat malt extract with just a dash of Northern Brewer hops for bittering. Haze Craze is our most popular New England IPA recipe kit. This Hazy IPA is packed with all of the hop character you'd expect from a classic West Cost IPA, but with much less bitterness and a much softer mouthfeel. Witbier Belgian Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Mini Mash
Light, crisp flavor spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander Includes 100% Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 6% Estimated IBUs: 16-20 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A unique Belgian Ale with moderate bitterness from early kettle additions of Saaz hops. This beer is spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander, which lends a surprisingly pleasant flavor and aroma. The grain bill, (grain portion of recipe) includes Oats and Flaked Barley, which, when combined with a very special non-flocculating yeast leaves a cloudy, almost-white appearance. Hence, the name wit (white in Flemish). This is a very refreshing style that has a light, crisp flavor. There are some phenolic flavors as well, as you would find in some Belgian Abbey Ales or even German Hefeweizen. Hoegarden and Celis White are commercial examples that represent this style. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.060-66 SRM (Color Range): 5 IBUs: 16-20 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Omega Yeast | OYL-021 Hefeweizen Ale I | Beer Yeast | Double Pitch | 225 Billion Cells
OYL-021 is a classic German wheat strain presenting banana and clove Esters turn up with increased temperatures, wort density and decreased pitch rate Double pitch size with a minimum of 225 billion cells—twice the size of the standard yeast pitch Proprietary propagation methods generate fresh, metabolically strong yeast cells and optimal biomass Omega Yeast is founded on curiosity and innovation, expertly producing common workhorse varieties and many unique strains Hefeweizen Ale I is a classic German wheat strain. It's a cloudy, big top cropper with the archetypical banana and clove character you expect in a hefe yeast. Ester notes turn up with increased fermentation temp, wort density and decreased pitch rate. Ferment at the lower end of its range to mute the ester expression and highlight notes of cloves. Over-pitching can lessen the banana, so plan accordingly. If you get a little too much sulfur, let the beer age longer and to condition out. See also Belgian Ale A (OYL-024) for an alternate complexity. Attenuation: 73-77% Flocculation: Low Alcohol Tolerance: 10% ABV Optimum Fermentation Temp: 64-75°F Cell Count: 225 Billion Strain Type: Ales Please Note: For best results we Always recommend ordering an Ice Pack with your liquid yeast. Ice Packs can be found below in the "You might Also Need" section. Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.
