The IceMaster Max 2 is designed to cool fermentations in small vessels. It features 2 built-in submersible pumps with independent digital temperature controllers and can be used with any vessel that has a glycol jacket or submersed cooling coil/rod. Each controller includes a temperature probe that should be inserted into a thermowell in your vessel or can be taped to the outside of the vessel if you don't have a thermowell. The digital controller then measures the temperature of your tank and turns the submersible pump on or off to cool to your desired set temperature. Up to two tanks can be controlled separately with one IceMaster Max 2.
The Max 2 is the perfect unit for brewers with 1 or 2 fermentation vessels. The IceMaster 100 and IceMaster Max 4 are terrific chillers, but for they have far more cooling capacity than the average homebrewer needs. The Max 2 is the most affordable glycol chiller we offer, and thanks to the built-in submersible pumps and controllers, there's no need to purchase additional pump kits to use with your cooling system(s).
Compatibility
The IceMaster can be used with any fermenter that has a built-in cooling jacket, added CoolStix, or a submersed cooling coil. It works well as the cooling source for the following systems and fermenters.
BrewBuilt Jacketed Uni Conical - we recommend one Insulated Tubing Kit for each tank. These kits feature "dry break" quick disconnects that prevent glycol loss and the insulated tubing will increase chilling efficiency and eliminate line sweating from condensation.
CoolStix - CoolStix can be added to a wide range of carboys, fermenters, and tanks and the IceMaster works really well in combination. Each CoolStix is available with or without a pump kit; for use with the IceMaster Max 2 you will only need the CoolStix and some tubing to connect it to the chiller.
Ss Brewtech Fermenters and Brites - Ss BME Chronicals, BME Brites, and Unitanks come with cooling coils and neoprene as standard. The optional chilling FTSs will not be needed for use with the Max 2.
Spike Conical with Optional Cooling Coil - the cooling coil for Spike CF series conicals is available for purchase independently from the TC-100 cooling system. For use with the Max 2 you will only need the coil and some tubing to connect it to the chiller.
Speidel Tanks with Optional Cooling Jackets - You will need two lengths of tubing to connect the chiller to each tank.
Grainfather Fermenters - Grainfather fermenters have standard cooling jackets. You will need two lengths of tubing for each fermenter.
Blichmann Fermenators with Optional Cooling Coil - You will need two lengths of tubing for each Fermenator.
Capacity
It is always difficult to determine exactly how many tanks can be chilled at one time as it depends on what is happening in each tank, if the tank is insulated, and what the ambient temperature is. Cold crashing always requires the most energy and requires tank insulation. We have experimented with capacities and can provide this general guide based on a 75°F ambient and neoprene insulation. Neoprene provides a modest amount of insulation so you would obtain better results using Armaflex or a higher R rated insulation.
At 75°F ambient temperature with neoprene insulation, the Max 2 can cold crash one 1 BBL BrewBuilt Jacketed Uni or two Jacketed Unis up to 15 gallons in size at one time to 38°F.

The Unitank 2.0 features 50% more cooling surface than the previous generation for better cooling efficiency and crashing performance.
Manufactured with professional level quality that has been the standard for Ss Brewtech's professional-level Unitanks
New Ss Brewtech Racking Arm co-molded with the geometry of the valve body and TC gasket which prevents the arm from coming loose
Quickly carbonate beer in under 24 hours using the carb stone while precisely monitoring head pressure
Adding an optional Sspunding Valve to the Unitank gives the brewer the ability to ferment under pressure
An evolutionary step forward in homebrew technology. The Unitank 2.0 builds upon the venerable Unitank line by increasing the full body wall thickness from 1.2 to 1.5mm 304 Stainless Steel. Then we added a fully laser welded, professional-grade jacketed cooling solution to the already advanced feature set the original Unitank is known for. With up to 50% more cooling surface area, maintaining a stable temperature and crashing your beer has never been more efficient.
Jacketed Cooling
The benefits of jacketed cooling are numerous, and such engineering has become the standard in Ss Brewtech professional Unitanks for years. With Unitank 2.0, those same benefits are available to the 5, 10, 15 and 31 gal home or nano brewer.
When paired with FTSs Touch and Ss Glycol Chillers, the Unitank 2.0 can provide an uncompromised level of fermentation control. The increased surface area of jacketed cooling allows more precise temp control not seen in the home brew industry. Additionally, the added surface area allows the fermenter to crash cool in even the most challenging environments.
Another benefit of moving to jacketed cooling is that removing the coil makes the cleaning process much more straightforward. When used with the Ss Brewtech CIP ball, cleaning can be performed just as the pros do in craft breweries.
Staggered inlet and outlet ports for the glycol jacket help with even coolant distribution in the jacket. The rear-mounted thermowell cleans up the coolant control wiring for an even more professional setup.
Keyed Racking Arm
Like the Chronical 2.0, the Unitank 2.0 features a version of the new Ss Brewtech Racking Arm co-molded with the geometry of the valve body and TC gasket; this ingenious design captures the racking arm and prevents it from coming loose. Additionally, the keyed elements of the valve allow the brewer to know precisely what direction the racking arm is facing based on the orientation of the valve on the vessel. What's more, the Unitank valve is the same full pressure-rated valve used on professional Ss Brewtech equipment.
All the Valves & Ports
The Unitank 2.0 continues with all the beloved features of the original Unitank. On top of all the fully welded TC connections and pro features, the Unitank 2.0 allows the brewer to quickly carbonate beer in under 24 hours using the carb stone while precisely monitoring head pressure. After fermenting and carbonating, the brewer can perform a true pressurized and closed transfer to a keg or canning machine significantly reducing the chances of oxidation when compared to open transfers.
Higher pressure limits allow the user to dispense beer directly out of the vessel. Lastly, adding an optional Sspunding Valve to the Unitank gives the brewer the ability to ferment under pressure and gives them the option to use the final few gravity points left of active fermentation to naturally carbonate their beer instead of force carbonate. This feature set and flexibility are why pro brewers use Unitanks in their brewing and packaging processes.

A properly controlled fermentation temperature is critical to producing quality beer. The now-iconic original Fermentation Temperature Stabilization System (FTSs) resulted from many napkin sketches that applied advanced thermodynamics to traditional brewing practices. The system is elegant in its simplicity and incredibly efficient, yet it was the third product we ever designed at Ss Brewtech, just after the Brew Bucket and Chronical. For an encore performance to the classic FTSs, we wanted to reimagine what homebrewing temperature control could be.
Your chill source can be as simple as a cooler with ice or as sophisticated as the Ss Glycol Chiller. If your setup requires temperatures to be corrected both up and down, check out the optional FTSs Touch | Heating Pad.
The FTSs Touch is designed to be paired with systems like the Unitank, Chronical BME, and Brite Tank BME, which already have a cooling coil and neoprene jacket.

The FTSs Touch | Nano Jacketed Tank Upgrade kit has been designed to leverage components from our home brewing FTSs Touch line in an effort to provide a low-cost solution to pair a 1, 2, or 3.5 BBL Nano Jacketed Unitank and Nano Jacketed Brite Tanks with one of our 3/8 HP or 3/4 HP glycol chillers.
This system features a custom TC thermowell adapter, along with a silicone insert to adapt the temperature probe from an FTSs Touch controller to the welded-in sleeved thermowell port on our line of Nano Jacketed Tanks. In addition, a custom-designed low-pressure open silicone check valve is included to prevent backflow to the chiller's reservoir when glycol is not flowing. The kit includes 1/2" NPT to 3/8" barbs to adapt the glycol ports for use with our standard FTSs Touch pump.
Since most Nano Jacketed Tanks are set up for use with a pressurized loop glycol system typically found in commercial breweries, this kit offers a Nano brewery an affordable, easy-to-setup alternative to more elaborate or expensive installations. Everything is included to interface a single Nano Jacketed Tank between an FTSs Touch and Ss Glycol Chiller.

Neoprene a modest amount of insulation so you would obtain better results using Armaflex or a higher R rated insulation. If only controlling fermentation temps the capacity would be higher. Four BrewBuilt Chilling Pump Kits (GLY35) is the maximum that will fit in the IceMaster. We are working on smaller glycol pump kits, where the pumps have smaller footprints, so the IceMaster right now has the capacity to use 5 pumps through the bulkhead fittings.
Capacity calculated at cold crashing to 38°F at 75°F ambient with neoprene insulation (double for fermentation temperature control):
2 - 1BBL (31 Gallon) Jacketed Tanks
2 - 1/2BBL (15-20 Gallon) Tanks

4 Built-in pumps and digital controllers
Control multiple fermentation temperatures independently Fill with 20% glycol solution for optimal chilling performance Cold crash with good insulation Perfect complement to BrewBuilt X-Series Conicals The IceMaster Max 4 is designed to cool fermentations in small vessels. It features 4 built-in submersible pumps with independent digital temperature controllers and can be used with any vessel that has a glycol jacket or submersed cooling coil/rod. Each controller includes a temperature probe that should be inserted into a thermowell in your vessel or can be taped to the outside of the vessel if you don't have a thermowell. The digital controller then measures the temperature of your tank and turns the submersible pump on or off to cool to your desired set temperature. Up to four tanks can be controlled separately with one IceMaster Max 4. Compatibility The IceMaster can be used with any fermenter that has a built-in cooling jacket, added CoolStix, or a submersed cooling coil. Each CoolStix is available with or without a pump kit; for use with the IceMaster Max 4 you will only need the CoolStix and some tubing to connect it to the chiller. Ss Brewtech Fermenters and Brites - Ss BME Chronicals, BME Brites, and Unitanks come with cooling coils and neoprene as standard. The optional chilling FTSs will not be needed for use with the Max 4. The cooling coil for standard Ss Chronicals and Brew Buckets are not sold a la carte and must be purchased with a submersible pump, which is not needed for the Max 4. For standard Chronicals and Brew Buckets you might consider the IceMaster 100 for cost savings. Spike Conical with Optional Cooling Coil - the cooling coil for Spike CF series conicals is available for purchase independently from the TC-100 cooling system. For use with the Max 4 you will only need the coil and some tubing to connect it to the chiller. Capacity It is always difficult to determine exactly how many tanks can be chilled at one time as it depends on what is happening in each tank, if the tank is insulated, and what the ambient temperature is. The German made 1.2 horse power MB Chiller is an ideal solution for nano breweries looking to chill up to 10 fermenters at once. The idea of the MiniChilly is that for each fermenter you want to a chill a pump kit is added. A pump kit (GLY35) includes a submersible pump that is placed in the cold bath of the Mini Chilly along with a digital controller that is placed next to your fermenter. Silicone tubing is included to make the connections. The digital controller includes a thermal probe that should be inserted into a thermal well in your vessel or can be taped to the outside of the vessel if you don't have a thermal well. The digital controller then measures the temperature of your tank and turns the submersible pump on or off to cool the liquid in your vessel to the desired set temperature. In this way each tank can be set at different temperatures. The MiniChilly is made by Quantor/Kreyer of Germany who is the largest manufacturer of glycol systems for breweries and wineries in the world. Made with high quality manufacturing and components, the MiniChilly is a durable system for many years of problem-free brewing. It is German made and we guarantee you will appreciate the build quality when compared to other chillers on the market. The unit features a stainless steel case with stainless 3/8" barbs in the top that allow for a clean connection of the silicone tubing that will run from each pump to each tank. The MiniChilly is able to chill its reservoir down to 21°F when a 30% glycol solution is used. The compact size and included casters make it easy to move around the brewery when needed. Applications: Cooling of Fermentation Cold Crashing for Brite Tanks Maintain Lagering Temperatures Compatibility: The MiniChilly can be used with any fermenter that has a built-in cooling jacket or a submersed cooling coil. It works well as the cooling source for the following systems and fermenters. BrewBuilt Jacketed Uni Conical - You will need one Glycol Pump Kit for each tank. Ss Brewtech Fermenters and Brites with optional FTS Temperature Control Systems: Because FTS systems include a pump and controller you will not need to buy a separate Glycol Pump Kit. Spike Conical with Optional Cooling Package - Because the optional Spike cooling system includes a pump and controller you will not need to buy a separate Glycol Pump Kit. Speidel Tanks with Optional Cooling Jackets - You will need one Glycol Pump Kit for each tank. Grainfather Fermenters - Grainfather fermenters have standard cooling jackets. You will need one Glycol Pump Kit for each fermenter Blichmann Fermenators with Optional Cooling Coil - You will need one Glycol Pump Kit for each Fermenator. Capacity: Many chiller ratings are based on the theoretical power of the compressor, while the cooling capacity of the MiniChilly is rated at a realistic ambient temperature. This is much more useful for predicting the MiniChilly’s performance in real world applications. Of course, you could cool a greater number of smaller tanks but you’re ultimately limited to the 10 connections. Actual cooling capacities will vary based on the insulation of the tank. For the examples below we assume neoprene or better. Cooling Capacity Example: Up to 10 1BBL (31 Gallon) well-insulated tanks fermenting at 68°F in 80°F ambient temperature. For every fermenter you want to cold crash remove 4 fermenting fermenters from the capacity. Set Up: In order to hook up the MiniChilly to your fermenter or tank's cooling system, you will need 4 lengths of tubing per pump. All tubing connections should be secured with hose clamps. Length 1: Submersible pump outlet to inner barb of 1st bulkhead Length 2: Outer barb of 1st bulkhead to cooling system inlet Length 3: Cooling system outlet to outer barb of 2nd bulkhead Length 4: Inner barb of 2nd bulkhead to MiniChilly reservoir (should drain freely, no connection necessary) Technical Characteristics:

Advanced Modular Control System: Designed for homebrewers and microbreweries, the Brewtools FCS brings industrial-level precision with features like temperature, pressure, and gravity monitoring for ultimate brewing control. Comprehensive Starter Kit: Includes essential components such as FCS Display and I/O Modules, temperature and pressure sensors, and all necessary cables and adapters to start customizing your fluid control setup. Automated Fermentation Profiles: Automate cooling, heating, and pressure management with software-driven profiles, simplifying complex processes while ensuring consistency in your brews. Expandable & Customizable: Add solenoids, pumps, airlocks, and adapters to fit your specific brewing needs, compatible with both Brewtools and non-Brewtools tanks. Constant Monitoring & Alerts: Early warning notifications for equipment issues like solenoid valves or heating elements ensure smooth operation and protect your brewing investment. This version of the FCS Kit includes the Density/Temp Sensor which replaces the temperature-only sensor in the basic FCS Starter Kit. FCS is a modular control system designed, developed and manufactured by Brewtools in Norway. The vision behind the system is to take industrial technology and make that available for microbreweries and homebrewers. Using the latest electronic component technology and clever software engineering, Brewtools is able to make features that used to be very expensive and complicated available for everyone. The system can measure temperature, pressure, density/gravity*, level* and power consumption and based on that — control cooling, heating, pressure/CO2 in, pressure/CO2 out, agitation*, automatic hop additions* under pressure and more! Fermentation profiles will automate the whole process and give you ultimate control of your fermentation process. (*Not available at first launch.) The system will also constantly monitor the process and notify you if something isn't right. For example, the system will measure the current draw of solenoid valves and heating elements, and will notify you if these components aren't working as they should. Please Note: The software is currently in a state of early adopter beta, and should not be used for critical production. Brewtools will continue to develop software and new sensors/actuators based on customer feedback and requests. If you cannot find a sensor or actuator that fits your setup, please reach out to us and let us know. Note that we do not take responsibility for any lost/destroyed beer or raw materials. Brewtools FCS Starter Kit The Brewtools FCS Starter Kit includes all the essential parts to get you started setting up your own custom-designed Fluid Control System. FCS Display Module and FCS I/O Module with power supply 1 density/temp sensor (TC 1.5") 1 pressure sensor with gas out solenoid All cables and adapters needed (3m length) The kit does not include a valve/pump for cooling as these are tank dependent, and you may already have a solenoid for your existing glycol loop. For non-Brewtools tanks, you also may need an adapter and/or tee to connect the spunding valve/pressure sensor assembly. Accessories To complete your FCS kit setup, some accessories are needed. A solenoid for cooling (Ø4.5mm - 34mm or 1.5") with 2-pin LP12 cable and DIN43650 Type A adapter or a submersible pump (comes with cable). A ball clamp and a connecting rod. An airlock for the pressure out solenoid valve is recommended. For smaller tanks we recommend our polycarbonate airlock. For larger tanks (300L+) you should use a TC34mm to 12mm barb and a 10x16mm silicone tube or equivalent. Tri-Clamps and gaskets. Based on your tank and setup, you may need some extra tri-clamps or gaskets. For MiniUni+, you need to replace the Mini Spunding valve with an M24 to Tri Clamp adapter and a 90 degree TC34mm elbow to fit your spunding assembly (if you want to use our TC air lock. No need for elbow if you use tubing as airlock). Remember clamps/gaskets. If you don't have a Brewtools Unitank, we recommend getting a TC 1.5" to 34mm adapter for the spunding setup. You will also need a 34mm Tri-Clamp and 34mm gasket. Tees and crosses are also available in multiple sizes to give you more ports. Setting Up the FCS for Your Tank Mounting To mount to your tank a ball clamp and a connecting rod are very useful. This will work with most any size or style tank. Solenoid Valve & Related Connection Hardware for Cooling For Brewtools tanks that use 34mm connection you will need a Ø4.5mm - 34mm solenoid valve. For BrewBuilt, Spike, Ss BrewTech, or Commercial tanks you will need a TC 1.5" to 34mm adapter and 1.5" TC Solenoid Valve. Either way, you will need a 2-pin LP12 cable and DIN43650 Type A adapter to connect the solenoid valve to the Brewtools FCS I/O Module. Would You Like a Visible Air Lock on the Spunding Valve? The Brewtools pressure relief solenoid spunding valve releases CO2 at the set point you choose on your controller. To visually see the CO2 release, adding on an airlock for the pressure out solenoid valve is a nice option. For tanks under 300L, we recommend the 34mm polycarbonate airlock that connects to the Brewtools Solenoid Valve. For tanks larger than 300L, you should use a blowoff. For blowoffs, use a TC34mm to 12mm barb and a 10x16mm silicone tube or equivalent ran into a bucket of water. You will also need a 34mm Tri-Clamp and 34mm gasket. Tees and crosses are also available in multiple sizes to give you more ports. For the MiniUni+ For MiniUni+, you need to replace the Mini Spunding Valve with an M24 to TC adapter and a 90-degree 34mm TC elbow to fit your spunding assembly (if you want to use the TC air lock. No need for elbow if you use tubing for a blowoff). You will need the clamps/gaskets to make the connection. Starter Kit Included Parts: FCS Display Module, 5" FCS I/O Module 2x RTD, 5x CAN, 4x Relay Power Supply, 24V 40W, LP12-pin Pressure Sensor, CAN BUS 24V, M12 Solenoid valve, TC34mm + M12, DC24V Ø2.0 Density/Temp Sensor, TC 1.5", CAN BUS 24V Cable, LP12 6-pin, 3m Cable, LP12 5-pin, 3m (2 pcs) Cable, LP12-pin, 3m Adapter, LP12-pin to DIN 43650 Type B Recommended Separate Parts: Solenoid valve for cooling with adapters/cables or submersible pump Ball Mount connector and pipe clamp etc. Airlock (Top mounted or barb with silicone tube) Adapters and fittings to fit your tank Brewtools Product Number: 7713792

The Brew Bucket was the first product and the origin of Ss Brewtech, and for many brewers, the Brew Bucket was their first chance to ferment in stainless steel. Nearly a decade later, Ss challenged their engineering team to pair some of the newest technologies with the original design.
Brew Bucket Pure Flow Valve
The star of the Brew Bucket 2.0 is the new Brew Bucket Pure Flow Valve. This valve uses Pure Flow technology, originally developed for the Ss line of professional brewhouses. The removable silicone membrane of the valve provides a sanitary environment where beer makes contact with nothing except silicone. Additionally, they have molded the racking arm geometry into the valve’s silicone diaphragm to provide a seamless flow path for beer when transferring from the Brew Bucket 2.0.
Sanitary Connection
The valve attaches to the Brew Bucket using a welded external garden hose thread fitting that allows for a compact, easy-to-use connection without the need to fumble with additional clamps and gaskets. The threads are located externally and sealed by the gaskets built into the Pure Flow silicone, keeping them clean and sanitary. With the new valve design, the brewer can fully rotate the racking arm 360 degrees for maximum control while racking a finished beer.
Conical Base
The Brew Bucket 2.0 continues what made the original a great solution for home brewers. The pro-inspired conical base helps minimize trub interaction with fermented beer, thus limiting any concerns of off flavors produced during maturation. Combined with the rotatable racking arm, brewers can effortlessly rack off clean beer like the pros do in craft breweries.
Full Width Lid
The Brew Bucket 2.0 features the same full-width removable lid as the original, with a wide access opening that makes cleaning and sanitizing a breeze. Finally, the included thermowell has been repositioned to the lid, and the increased length allows for accurate readings, even when brewing partial batches.

Compared to the traditional steam heating brewhouse, the creative new-tech thermal oil heating avoids the installation of a dangerous and high-maintenance steam boiler. Steam offers more surface area than gas fired, but it requires a generator to create steam, collect it, and reheat it again. Oil heated brewhouses, on the other hand, use a simple oil heater and pump to circulate oil through the tank jackets. Compared to gas fired systems where all heat is directed to the very bottom of the kettle, this system heats from the sides and the bottom rather than the bottom alone. This offers not only greater surface area but faster thermal response. By controlling the oil temperature, you also have more precise boil vigor control and evaporation rate control. For these reasons and more, the Oil Heated Brewhouse makes for an ideal pilot batch system. Control Panel Our control panel features 4 PID controllers for precise control of the HLT, Mash, Boil Kettle and Oil temperature. The control panel also features a delayed start timer, allowing you to preheat your HLT overnight so your strike water will be ready when you arrive on brew day. Hard Piped Distribution Manifold With the distribution manifold, the entire brewing process can be completed by simply opening and closing valves. There’s no need to lug around brewery hoses and swap connections from vessel to vessel. This hard piped system is completely self contained with dedicated pumps to move wort and hot liquor from tank to tank as needed. Every step of the brew day is a simple valve turn away. The only hose required is from the brewing system to your fermenter. Once the brew is completed this same piping system is used for CIP and rinsing. Installation The systems are delivered on a skid. Simply, move the skid into place, hook up power and water and a drain and you are ready to clean and brew. Our systems also feature rolling casters for easy installation in your brewery, product pump for recirculation and sparging, hard piped manifold, grain out door on the mash tun, and mounted plate chiller. Design Features: 3-Vessel System with dedicated HLT, Mash Tun, and Boil Kettle Compact design and easy installation Built-in wort pump Built-in HLT pump Built-in 2-stage heat exchanger Hard piped distribution manifold Built-in control panel PID controls for kettle temperatures and oil temperature Slotted Mash Screen Tangential kettle return for whirlpool Built-in CIP Water inlet & hot water drain in 1.5" T.C. BE-256 is recommended for a range of Belgian type beers such as abbey style known for its fruitiness and high alcohol content
Formerly known as "Abbaye", this strain ferments very fast with a very high attenuation percentage
Fermentis active dry yeast offers reliability, ease-of-use, and consistency to home and professional beverage makers across the world
Abbey style beers are known for their high alcohol content and mild estery flavors, and brewing them is best done with a suitable yeast strain. Safale BE-256 (formerly called Abbaye) ferments fast with very high attenuation, contributing subtle, well-balanced aromas. In high-gravity brews, it can produce beers with up to 11% ABV. Or used for lower-alcohol styles, it gives a dry, crisp finish that makes for refreshing session beers or other light styles.
This yeast can be pitched directly, but if you prefer to rehydrate, the instructions are below.
Sprinkle the yeast in a minimum of 10 times its weight of sterile water or wort (we suggest 4 oz) at 70°F to 77°F (21 to 25 °C). Do not stir. Leave to rest 15 to 30 minutes. Gently stir for 30 minutes, and pitch the resultant cream into the fermentation vessel.
Attenuation: 82-86%
Sedimentation Time: Fast
Alcohol Tolerance: 9-11% ABV
Optimum Fermentation Temp: 64-78°F
*See the technical data sheet below for more information on rehydration, usage and storage.

Additionally, the patented technology from the University of California Davis ensures that the strain will not produce sulfurous off-flavors, allowing the malt and hop flavors to shine through.
Pasteurization is required when brewing with LalBrew® LoNa™ to avoid fermentation after packaging and ensure beer stability.
