Make a yeast starter in no time flat using premade, condensed wort—just mix with water and add yeast!
Skip the messy, time-consuming process of making a yeast starter with DME—no boiling or cooling required
Keep Propper Starter™ on hand for whenever brewing inspiration strikes—shelf stable for 2 years with no need to refrigerate
Propper Starter™ is condensed wort in a can, allowing you to make a yeast starter in minutes! No need to make a mess in the kitchen measuring out DME, and no need to waste time boiling and cooling before you pitch your yeast. Simply open a can of Propper Starter™, pour it into your flask along with 16 oz of bottled or distilled water, then add your yeast. It's that simple!
One can of Propper Starter™ with 16 oz of water will make a 1L starter with a gravity of 1.040. It is recommended to use the 1:1 dilution rate, regardless of the original gravity of your wort.
Making a proper yeast starter will offer higher cell counts at the time the yeast is pitched, leading to faster, healthier fermentations and better tasting beer! They're especially recommended for lagers and any beer that has an original gravity of 1.060 or higher.
Instructions:
Sanitize flask, stir bar, top of can and yeast pack
Swirl and open can, then pour contents into flask
Add 16 oz of bottled or distilled water to flask
Pitch yeast and swirl flask to mix
Add stir bar to flask, cover with foil, and mix on stir plate*
Recommended Use:
For high gravity beers (1.060 OG or higher)
For cold pitching lagers
For yeast packs that recommend a starter
For yeast packs nearing expiration
Ingredients: water, barley malt extract, yeast nutrient
Shelf life of 24 months. Refrigeration not required.
*Note: the use of a stir plate is not required for making a yeast starter, but is highly recommended, as it will further increase cell count through continuous aeration. For recommended stir plates and Erlenmeyer flasks, see below under "You Might Also Need".
Propper Seltzer is specially formulated to power your favorite beer yeast through a healthy sugar-based fermentation in as little as 7 days. One dose per five gallons will provide all the nutrients needed for a quick, successful batch of hard seltzer. For an even faster fermentation, we recommend Omega Yeast's Lutra™ Kveik strain, which can get the job done in as little as 4 days' time. One (1) pack provides yeast nutrient for (5) five gallons of sugar wort at 1.060 (15°P) or lower. Recommended for use with these strains: Lutra Kveik Hornindal Kveik Voss Kveik Espe Kveik Directions:
Add sugar to hot water and stir to dissolve. Boil for 10 min, measure gravity and adjust. Once desired gravity is reached, turn off the heat source and add Propper Seltzer nutrient. Transfer sugar base to the fermenter at desired ferm. temp. Aerate by shaking or oxygenating. Pitch your favorite Omega Yeast strain and let it roll.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

New and improved with the professional brewer in mind, the Tilt Pro is the bigger, badder version of the original Tilt Hydrometer. With three times the volume and weight as the original unit, the Tilt Pro's larger size allows for more than double the batter life. With preinstalled Energizer® AA lithium batteries, the Pro will stay powered for up to 5 years depending on usage. So much time you may forget your Tilt actually runs on a battery!
The extra size and weight come with an added bonus: improved specific gravity stability at high krausen, so you will see a steadier read-out on your iPhone, Android, or Raspberry Pi. In addition, Tilt Pro has boosted the range with a high-gain antenna that in testing increased range by 20% vs. the original Tilt. Now you can see your Tilt through thicker heads of foam and heavier stainless steel walls. To top it off they've included the extra decimal of precision available from the sensors and to the read-out so there are now decimal degrees Fahrenheit as well as higher resolution Celsius. Specific gravity now reads out to the 10,000th place (for example 1.0000). You can now see fermentation activity dropping less than a brewer's point per day. In all they've made several adjustments we believe the craft beer professional (and serious home brewer) is sure to appreciate.

Healthy, strong, properly rehydrated yeast cells that are prepared for a perfect fermentation
Automated process saves labor
Repeatability: process can be repeated by the machine without variables from human preparation
Increased viability and cell count reduces the amount of yeast needed.
The German made Yeast Booster Pro from Quantor offers a labor saving, precise, repeatable method for rehydrating dry yeast. Designed to rehydrate up to 2,000 grams of yeast at a time (available Yeast Booster Max handles up to 10,000 grams) with built-in temperature control and automated pumping in of water and juice. The result is consistently healthy yeast, producing optimum flavors, with greatly reduced chances of stuck fermentation.
The Yeast-Booster is run by a processor. All the required parameters can be set in the menu: start temperature, target temperature, time, etc. From the menu change the language and adjust the display lighting contrast. In the start phase the water will be heated to 101.3°F/38.5°C. Upon reaching the target temperature the yeast is added to the mixture. During the first phase of the propagation, the yeast will be gently circulated through a membrane pump, which will break up lumps and add oxygen to the mixture. Fresh must from the target tank will be added to the mixture every 15 minutes to acclimate the yeast. At the end of the up-scaling process, the propagated yeast mixture will be pumped into the target tank. The Yeast-Booster can then start the rinsing and cleaning cycle. The cycle lasts 2-3 hours, allowing time for cells to become active and begin replication.
The Yeast Booster is equipped with robust motorized valves, a strong pump for faster emptying, and a perforated stainless screen at the bottom of the tank breaking-up remaining clumps of dry-yeast to reach a fine, homogenous mixture. The unit is jacketed for connection to water (or glycol) for cooling and also features a built-in electric heater for precise temperature control during rehydration. Tank, screen, control panel, and frame are made from stainless steel.
