6.6 °L - Viking Malt - Viking. Curing temperatures in the range of 110–120°C give the malt an aromatic, nutty character. The high curing temperature results in clearly reduced enzyme activities compared to Pilsner Malt.
Munich Malt is ideal malt for dark lagers, festival beers and bocks for underlining malty flavors and full bodied taste. The decreased enzyme activities have to be taken into consideration when designing the brewing recipe.
In 2016 Viking Malt and Danish Malting Group joined forces to better serve their customers. Now the new Viking Malt is the leading malting company in Northern Europe and supply raw materials and services to the global brewing, distilling and food industries. Viking Malt has 6 malthouses in areas where our distinctive Nordic barley is sourced: in Halmstad, Sweden; Vordingborg, Denmark; Lahti, Finland; Panevezys, Lithuania and in Sierpc and Strzegom, Poland. The annual malting capacity is close to 600 kilotons.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

German malts and English hops collide. BKG Bomb is a far cry from today's modern, citrus-forward IPAs
Includes Magnum and British Kent Goldings hops
Estimated ABV: 7.2%
Estimated IBUs: 84-88
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
Where do German Malts and English Hops exist side by side in peace and unlikely harmony. In our BKG Bomb of an IPA! This big brusing beer, with an amazing mouth feel from copius amounts of Munich Malt Extract, is big on deep malt flavor and big on alcohol. It is the antithesis of todays super citrusy hopped, pale colored IPAs. This is all about malt, malt, malt and how British Kent Goldings (BKG) hops blend oh so well with a malt heavy beer. British Kent Goldings are the most prized ale hops in England and known for their subtle nature and floral aromas that really compliment malt flavors. Do you need a little extra sustenance to make it through the winter? Do you like to slice your beer with a knife? Do you need a break from over-the-top hopped IPA's? If you answered yes to any of these questions, The BKG Bomb IPA II should be your next beer.
Features 9 lbs of Munich Malt Extract along with an extra pound of light Dried Malt Extract. As if that was not enough we also include Maltodextrin for body building. The 4 oz of British Kent Golding hops in the finish provided for a unique and authentic English flavor. Bittered with 2oz of Magnum hops for a firm bitterness to stand up to all the malt.

Jonathan Plise has been making beer since the year 2000. He then spent the next few years researching and developing his recipes, fermentation regimen, and sanitation - Jonathan's most dramatic improvements came when he learned about oxygen and yeast starters. Jonathan became a famous homebrewer starting in 2005 when he recieved 33 awards for his beers, including several at the National Homebrewers Competition. He has also won California Homebrewer of the Year.
Jonathan's Munich Helles is rich and complex. The malt is upfront and smooth, while being anchored by the low hop additions. He has won 9 awards with this recipe, including one Best of Show and a Gold at the NHC in 2005. Jonathan recommends White Labs WLP833 German Bock Yeast

This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Firestone Walker Brewing Company Light in body and color, but strong in hop flavor and aroma Includes Fuggles, Chinook, Cascade, and Centennial hops Estimated ABV: 4.5% Estimated IBUs: 13 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Fact: Firestone Walker has been named "Mid-Size Brewery of the Year" four times. Another fact: Pale 31 has won 10 Gold Medals since 2003 (yeah, that's one a year!). The Pale 31 California Pale Ale is what some refer to as "The Perfect American Pale Ale". Light in body and color, but strong in hop flavor and aroma, this is one of those beers that most beer lovers will always want on tap. After having one, you'll most likely want another, and being under 5% ABV makes this a little more possible! The recipe consists of our ultralight liquid malt extract, Munich malt, and dextrin for added mouthfeel. The hops are a perfect blend of Fuggles, Chinook, Cascade and Centennial. Firestone Walker's head brewer Matt Brynildson had worked on his Pale Ale recipe for a long time before being perfectly satisfied. We know that once you taste this beer, you'll agree with us that his hard work has definitely paid off! Don't forget to purchase The Brewing Network's "The Perfect American Pale Ale" DVD too! Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Paso Robles, California. It seems to some that Matt has almost been bred to brew beer. After getting a degree in chemistry in 1993, Matt went to work in Michigan doing research and development on hops for the brewing industry. In 1995, Matt went to the famous Seibel Institute of Brewing Technology to further his education. After brewing for Goose Island in Chicago and then moving to California to work for SLO Brewing, Matt was appointed Small Brewmaster of the Year in 2001. Later that year, he was asked to join the crew at Firestone Walker. Two years later Matt was dubbed Mid-Sized Brewer of the Year at the Great American Beer Fest AND at the World Cup of Beer, for a total of 12 medals in just three years! Since then, Firestone Walker has been gaining a large following in California due in part to it's flagship beer, Double Barrel Ale, which is produced in a Burton Union system that has the beer fermenting in barrels. Firestone Walker Brewing Company is the only brewery in the U.S. to ferment in barrels and one of only two in the world. In addition to the line-up at Firestone Walker, Matt also brews the Nectar Ales line of beers, as well as a few of the Trader Joe's house brands. Learn more at www.firestonebeer.com
Don't let the name fool you, this beer is easy on the oak, having been created so that all ingredients blend perfectly with one another, even the oak. In fact, the oak really takes a back seat to the wonderful malt characteristics that this beer presents, which may be hard to imagine once you realize there are 2 ounces of oak in this one! American base malt, a little Munich, some crystal, and that's it - simple, yet flavorful. Just how we like it. One can easily spend all night drinking this smooth amber ale ... in fact, many of us at MoreBeer! have done just that! The low bitterness ties everything together and makes you remember just how much of a craft brewing beer really is.

The recipe consists of American 2-Row, Munich malt, and Carapils for added mouthfeel. Matt Brynildson discusses water modification, recipe formulation, and techniques on how to brew Pale 31! To read more, See related product. Jonathan Plise has been making beer since the year 2000 - his first batch being a porter that was less than drinkable. He then spent the next few years researching and developing his recipes, fermentation regimen, and sanitation - Jonathan's most dramatic improvements came when he learned about oxygen and yeast starters. In 2006 he was awarded California Homebrewer of the Year sponsored by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
Jonathan's Munich Helles is rich and complex. The malt is upfront and smooth, while being anchored by the low hop additions. He has won 9 awards with this recipe, including one Best of Show and a Gold at the NHC in 2005. Jonathan recommends White Labs WLP833 German Bock Yeast.

Optimized Hop Extracts
When you extract the oil from hops, no matter how good your extraction is, you’ll always wind up with certain undesirable plant compounds. Abstrax Omni Hop Profiles are true-to-type optimized hop extracts without any of the undesirable notes typically found in other dry-hop aroma oils.
The Power of Terpenes
Abstrax Omni Hop Profiles are created by using individual terpene isolates. Think of them like little building blocks. We assemble them together to create an exact profile of the original hop with ZERO undesirable compounds. The result is an extremely potent and accurate profile of the original hop utilizing the power of terpenes.
Extremely Concentrated
A little really goes a long way here. Omni Hop Profiles are made from the essential building blocks of flavor and aroma so they’re naturally potent.
