Description

Hop rhizomes are now available fo pre-order! We'll be fulfilling orders as soon as they're available, usually in early to mid April. Pre-orders will ship out immediately, so order now to ensure availability and lock in priority fulfillment!

9.5-11.5% AA - Grows well in all climates. Susceptible to Downy Mildew.

The aroma/flavor is definitely American in nature with pungent aromas and pronounced flavor. Similar to, and blends well with Cascade, but without the grapefruit flavors of Cascade.  Great higher alpha bittering hop.

Rhizomes should be planted immediately for best results. If your area is still experiencing frost then you can plant them in a planter indoors until it is safe to transplant outside. The first years crop will generally be smaller than subsequent years. Since these are live plants, we cannot guarantee they will grow, so we recommend buying two of each type to help ensure their success.

Shipping Restrictions:

Due to agricultural restrictions, we can only ship rhizomes to addresses that are in the United States, excepting Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and the counties of Bonner and Kootenai in Idaho. Unfortunately, we cannot ship these to international locations including APO/FPO addresses.

Shipping Limitation: This item does not qualify for free shipping.

Prebook Item: Please note this item is not currently in stock, but is available for Pre-Order. We do require payment in full in order to reserve stock.

Centennial Hop Rhizomes
Ordered 5 rhizomes. Planted at the end of June here in central Iowa. All 5 sprouted. A few grew longer and stronger than the others. Best growth was when planted facing the southern sky and 8+ hours of full sun a day. Pictures are of best vine after less than 2 months of growth.

This one isn’t playing nice for some reason.
Did not come up from Rhizomes. Not sure if they were non-viable upon arrival or if they just don’t do Florida well, or what. The other three are growing (Crystal, Chinook, Cascade). We will see if the last through Florida’s hot summer.

Centennial rhizome
Arrived quickly after notification, well packaged with other rhizomes and clearly identified. Shoots broke ground in about 10 days.

hearty most all came up
I bought several varieties of hops and these were the only ones that thrived. In fact they're doing too good, growing like weeds. This is third year so harvest should be great.

The Cascade rhizome is growing, albeit not very large at this time, probably due to our San Diego climate.

Rhizomes arrived early in April in great shape. Planted in one gallon pot on April 10 - cut out bottom of pot 3 weeks later and planted in raised bed. By end of seventh week , the vine is 5 foot tall and growing every day. A very healthy plant !
7 weeks after planting - 5 feet tall and growing taller every day!
