How to Brew with HyperBoost?
HyperBoost® is designed to easily pour in your fermenter as a dry hop addition, adding an intense saturation of hop flavor to your finished beer. Most brewers choose to use HyperBoost during active fermentation, but it can also be added to the whirlpool. Using HyperBoost in place of traditional pellets can increase finished beer yield.
Kettle: HyperBoost is not intended for kettle additions. For early kettle and bittering additions, we recommend pellets or CO2 extract. DynaBoost® carries variety-specific oil and alpha acid content to the kettle and can be used as a late kettle addition.
Post-Boil / Whirlpool: For whirlpool use, brewers can replace up to 100% of pellets with HyperBoost. We suggest replacing T-90 pellet additions in the whirlpool at a rate of 50:1 by weight (20 g of HyperBoost to replace 1 kg T-90). Your brewery might choose to use more or less depending on beer style or overall goal.
Fermentation: HyperBoost can be used as an active or post-fermentation hop addition. Incorporate HyperBoost anywhere in the process you would typically use pellets.
Dry Hopping: For dry hop additions, YCH recommends using HyperBoost for 25-50% of the addition and adding T-90 or Cryo® pellets for the remainder of the hop charge. As a dry hop, we suggest starting with a replacement rate of 100:1 HyperBoost to T-90 pellets by weight (10 g HyperBoost in place of 1 kg T-90) to 125:1 (8 g HyperBoost in place of 1 kg T-90).

Citra® boasts grapefruit and lime aromas along with gooseberry, passion fruit, and lychee notes. You simply can't go wrong using these hops for late additions or dry hopping when you want to make that ultimate hop bomb Hazy IPA. Citra® also has a fairly high alpha acid content making it a solid choice for bittering IPAs, Pales, and American Ales.

One the most popular hops in craft brewing today, Galaxy hops are adored for their huge oil content and pungent citrus and passionfruit flavors. This single hop variety accounts for the majority of hop yield coming from Australia, and is still one of the more difficult hops to get your hands on. It's so popular that we have to contract for it years in advance, so be sure to shore up your supply when it's in stock! This tantalizing dual purpose hop can be used up and down the hopping schedule and is an absolute stunner when used late in the boil, whirlpool, or dry hopping. Traditional Czech Saaz hops are most commonly chosen for aromatic additions to Pilsners and Lagers, but also work well in Light Ales and Belgians. Though alpha acids are low, they are used for both bittering and an aroma of pleasant earthy, herbal and floral notes. You can finish just about any Lager recipe with this versatile hop. Even though it has a low alpha-acid content you will find many traditional recipes using this hop for both bittering and for flavor/aroma additions.

A new way to IPA! Firestone Walker's Hopnosis IPA represents one of the tastiest examples of a new beer style that is quickly gaining ground—Cold IPA. These beers feature the massive hopping schedules you'd expect from an IPA but are then fermented cold with a lager strain. This gives the beer a clean, crisp and crushable profile while allowing the hops to be on full display. From the top of the boil to the final post fermentation dry hop, you'll find a long list of delicious hop varieties from the U.S. and New Zealand. One of the standouts is Mosaic® Cryo Hops® which are used as the biotransformation dry hop addition. Prepare to be absolutely mesmerized by Hopnosis IPA's explosion of tropical fruit flavors including mango, passionfruit, white grape, and lychee.
What Firestone Walker Has to Say About Hopnosis:
In early 2022, we launched Hopnosis as our next-generation West Coast-style IPA. Now the time has come to embrace an even more accurate stylistic moniker for Hopnosis: Cold IPA. While IPAs are typically fermented with ale yeasts, cold IPAs like Hopnosis are fermented with lager yeasts. Remember that IPA stands for India Pale Ale, so fermenting an IPA with lager yeasts signifies a break with tradition.
“When you use a lager yeast to ferment an IPA, you get a cleaner and less ester-driven aroma profile,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “The colder fermentation also creates a lighter backbone that helps accentuate the bright, tropical hops we’re using. So while Hopnosis offers a lot of things you love in a straight-ahead West Coast IPA, the lager yeast is what pushes it toward the Cold IPA style.”
As a result, Hopnosis rings all the bells of a Cold IPA: crisp and crushable, with a clean hop profile.

Lemondrop™ was originally developed by Hopsteiner as Experimental #01210 and released in 2012. Derived from Cascade, you will find some familiar flavors residing in these lupulin glands. Lemondrop™ crushes as an aroma addition in Pale Ales, IPAs, Hoppy Lagers and NEIPAs, but don't shy away from it if you're looking to add some lemon-citrus flavor to your favorite Hefeweizen, Kolsch or Blonde Ale!

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.
Magnum is a great bittering hop with an aroma similar to a strong Willamette. It therefore works well with Willamette, Fuggles, and British Kent Goldings when used as an aroma hop in later boil additions. Magnum makes an incredibly useful bittering agent in just about any beer, and due to its very smooth bitterness, you can really use as much as you want.
Clean smooth bitterness with a slight floral/fruity aroma. This German variety generally has a higher AA content than US Magnum. This is the main high alpha variety grown and used in Germany. Fantastic hop to use for bittering.

The kiwis keep it coming with yet another hop varietal that's bursting with character. Riwaka™ varietal 85-6-23 was originally bred by New Zealand Hops by crossing Saaz with specially developed breeding selections. The result was a highly aromatic hop with almost double the oil content of its parent Saaz. Realesed in 1997, this was once an exceedingly difficult hop to get your hands on outside of New Zealand, as it was quickly bought up by the native brewers. With an almost 1:1 alpha to beta acids ratio, this rockstar aroma hop gives off strong notes of citrusy grapefruit and kumquat. Perfect for new world pale ales, IPAs, hoppy lagers, and any beer you want a bold fruity hop character to shine.

Ripe honeydew, papaya and tropical melange, white peach and fleshy pear. Vista hops are the most recent release from the USDA public breeding program. The public hop breeding program is unique in that it exists to broadly benefit the entire hop and brewing industries, whereas private programs look more at explicit private financial gain. The USDA public breeding program bred the genetic hop base on which American craft beer was built: Cascade, Centennial, Cluster. And continues to innovate to adapt towards new DDH hazy, juicy IPA brewer and consumer preferences with releases like Cashmere, Triumph, and now Vista.
Rhizomes should be planted immediately for best results. If your area is still experiencing frost then you can plant them in a planter indoors until it is safe to transplant outside. The first years crop will generally be smaller than subsequent years. Since these are live plants, we cannot guarantee they will grow, so we recommend buying two of each type to help ensure their success.
Shipping Restrictions:
Due to agricultural restrictions, we can only ship rhizomes to addresses that are in the United States, excepting Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and the counties of Bonner and Kootenai in Idaho. Unfortunately, we cannot ship these to international locations including APO/FPO addresses.
We think Strata is the next amazing aroma hop. Our hop buyer Marcus was super high on this hop from the first sniff. Then Vito did hop selection in 2019 and came back raving about this hop. Now that we have had it in several commercial beers, everyone at MoreBeer! is loving it. One of the first commercial beers that made us go "wow" was Stratadust from Barebottle brewery in San Francisco. Another was New School Kicks from the Imperiale Beer Project. We've all had a million Citra® and Mosaic® beers the last couple of years and while those hops are amazing, and we'll drink them any day of the week, we are ready for something new and we think Strata will be in the same echelon.
At its core Stata is an IPA/Session-IPA/Pale Ale hop with many layers of different fruit flavors, dried and fresh, anchored with a dried chili-cannabis-funk. Yeah, take that in. The grower, Indie Hops, says Strata does not have any diesel, machine oil, or catty ‘baggage’. Since we are not huge on machine oil in our beer, that is a bonus. Late hot side additions bring out layers of rounded-tropical plus bright-fresh fruit flavors; dry hopping yields more grapefruit and cannabis. We think the tropical fruit that we all kind of love, along with other interesting complexities, is what makes this hop shine.
We also dig that this amazing hop is coming out of Oregon from a hop company appropriately named Indie Hops. When hops were in short supply some hop growers in Yakima, the old school hop epicenter, shunned us. They would only sell direct to breweries or in their own packaging where they could make full markup. We met Indie Hop Growers 10 years ago and these guys are laid back, super cool, and always supported MoreBeer! Indie started a hop breeding program with Oregon State to develop killer new aroma hops outside of Yakima and Strata is their first home run. So perhaps we could be biased but we think the hops smells for itself. Leave a review and let us know what you think.

If you want a beer that tastes like it came straight from a tropical paradise, BRU-1 is the obvious choice. Developed through open pollination at Brulotte Farms in Toppenish, Washingthon, this new hop varietal is absolutely bursting with the sweet, fruity aroma of pineapple. It works well on its own for single hop beers, providing plenty of alpha acids up front in the boil and contributing complex flavors of pineapple, pear, apple and fresh cut grass when used for whirlpool and dry hop additions. It also plays well with other hops to create a depth of fruit flavor and comes highly recommended for Pale Ales, IPAs, Hazys, IPLs, and wheat ales.

Cryo Hop® Hop Pellets
Higher AA and nearly twice the resin content of traditional T-90 hop pellets
Increase yield by reducing vegetal matter in your brewhouse and fermenter
Cryo Hops® provide brewers with the ability to get gigantic hop character while reducing astringent and unpleasant vegetal flavors. With a substantially higher oil and resin content, LupuLN2 powder offers up all the flavor and aroma of a heavily hopped beer, but with a significanly reduced grassy character. Additionally, the lower dosage rate of the concentrated powder reduces the volume of trub and therefore, kettle loss. Using Cryo Hops® you will net more beer that is clearer!
Typical usage of Cryo Hops® would be roughly 50% of pellets. LupuLN2 powder can be used in any application where traditional hop products are utilized, including: Bittering, Kettle, Whirlpool and even direct to the fermentor. It is suggested that you use Cryo Hops® as late additions, in the whirlpool or dry hop, as the volatile aromatic compounds will be driven off if added early in the boil.
Cryo Hops® are an innovative hop product that is made by separating the lupulin from the hop flower using cryogenic processing. The result is a product with twice the potency of T90 pellets, with reduced astringency and vegetative material.
Note: These hops come pelletized. The powder is compressed into pellet form to make handling easier.

If you're hearing ghostly tales whispered around your local homebrew shop, there's no need to pile your brew crew into the hippy van—this one is no mystery. Phantasm Powder has been causing quite a stir on the craft beer scene, and the buzz is well deserved. Adding this powder to your wort and fermenting it with a thiolized yeast strain is one of the easiest ways to boost tropical flavor and aroma in your finished beer. Derived from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Grapes, this powder will add a concentrated dose of thiol precursors. During fermentation, yeast will go to work on these aroma compounds and "free the thiol", boosting the tropical bouquet of your beer to supernatural levels. We're stoked to get this cutting-edge ingredient into the hands of homebrewers so we designed a series of Phantasm recipe kits that will set you up to take full advantage of brewing with Phantasm Powder.
Our Phantasm Hazy Double IPA includes 10 ounces of aroma hop additions from whirlpool to biotransformation to post fermentation, leaning on some choice New Zealand and American varietals and turns it up a notch with two additions of Cryo Hops® for an extra concentrated kick of hoppy goodness. Since this kit series is all about the thiols, we start with whole cone Mosaic in the mash to further increase the thiol precursors. Add the Phantasm Powder at flameout along with your whirlpool / hop stand additions. For maximum effect, we highly recommend choosing a thiolized yeast strain for fermentation which are specifically designed to boost thiol biotransformation.

Lotus™ is the latest experimental hop variety developed under the Hopsteiner breeding program to now be available to homebrewers. This tenacious hop outperformed thousands of brothers and sisters born of the initial cross breeding and survived a decade long journey to become the hottest addition to Hopsteiner's unique portfolio of exciting new hop varieties. Lotus™ displays exceptional aromatic characteristics, boasting waves of orange and vanilla followed by notes of candied grape and tropical fruit aromas.
Lotus’s genetic origin stems from Eastern Gold, a Japanese hop variety dating back to the 1930s, followed by a mix of Apollo, Cascade, and a USDA male. The USDA male was bred from an open pollinated seedling of a wild American hop developed at Wye College, England. The cross from the USDA male with Neomexicanus heritage adds an additional layer of complexity and uniqueness to this variety.
