Description

Wai-iti hops provide wonderfully bright citrus aromatics that compliment a variety of beer styles. Expect notes of lime, lemon and mandarin oranges that would make a great addition to your Pale, IPA, or Wheat brew. Luckily we bought most of the Wai-iti hops that were available in the U.S., so try them while you can! Ballast Point made a Sculpin® Double IPA cask version with Wai iti hops that was highly thought of.

Love the lime and citrus
Wai-iti complemented some motueka in a pale ale that turned out fantastic. Heaps of lime and citrus character in the aroma. Awesome!

My favorite hop
Outstanding, I use together with Strisselspalt and Mosaic as finishing hops in my saison. No substitution has been satisfactory.

These are delicious
I made a simple American Wheat beer and also a more hop forward "Wheat Saison" with these hops by splitting a 5 gallon batch of plain old 1.048 wheat beer (nothing but 2-row and wheat) between two small fermenters and pitching different yeast (S-05 and Bella Saison). Mandarin orange flavor is more prevalent in the American Wheat, where the Saison has more pronounced lime, and since it's 10 points drier, what comes across as bitter orange vs sweeter orange. Both are delicious and I would make them again. I think you could use them in a WIT beer as a hoppy replacement for the spices and get a really good result. I'm going to use them in a blonde Belgian in the near future, and I will certainly buy more of them even though they are a bit pricy.
