We have been working with Five Star for a few months on getting Star San into smaller sizes, and they listened. One capfull per gallon. If you are going to mix a solution and store it, use distilled or RO water, as the minerals found in tap water will affect the amount of time that Star San will remain effective.

An acid based, no-rinse disinfectant that is quick, odorless, tasteless, and safe for most materials except soft metals. Contact time is 1 to 2 minutes when a 1 oz/5 gallon mixing solution is used. Will not stain vinyl tubing or other plastic parts.
Star San contains a foaming agent which has advantages and disadvantages. The foam will disinfect and it stays longer on a surface, such as the inside of large tank. Especially great for hard to sanitize equipment and places where you can not keep full liquid contact all the time. Lowers the pH of water to 2.2-2.5 instantly killing 99% of all organisms.
