Description

If you frequently switch up your batch sizes when brewing at home, this immersion chiller with a 5/10 split is the perfect chiller for your setup. It is made up of 50 feet of high quality copper tubing tightly coiled to about 10 inches in diameter, and it has a nice split in the middle so that you can use it for just about any size batch.

The immersion chiller’s tubing measures ½ inch diameter, and because it is made of copper, it will chill your wort much faster than other types of tubing. There are connection fittings for garden hoses on either end of the tubing, as well as a 24-inch bend in the piping at the top to fit over the lip of the brew kettle. If you already have a brew kettle in which you brew 5- to 10-gallon batches of beer, this immersion chiller is a great addition to your setup. 


The measurements are: Approx. 10" diameter, 14" to the top coil, 24" to the bend to go over the lip of the kettle.

Great heat exchanger for swimming pool
I used this as a heat exchanger for an outdoor swimming pool with a 38K btu turkey fryer kit. It worked great to relatively quickly bring 5k gallons of water from 52 degrees to over 70. Now it is very comfortable for the rest of the summer.

Wish I got it sooner
Get an immersion chiller, or something other than an ice bath. This cools the wort pretty darn quickly, about 30 minutes for me. Plus you set it and forget it, for a bit. I like that you don't have to worry about the insides getting dirty, like other chilling devices.

Knocks down 12 gallons to fermentation temp in 25 minutes
Great for the big temp drop from 212 to 100. Sometimes the wort will stratify in a 15.5 gallon half barrel. The bottom half of the wort is 70 degrees, while the top half is 90 degrees. You may have to give it a vigorous stir to get the two to mix together.

Good Chiller
This chiller is pretty good. Definitely a step up from the one that comes with the starter kits. Can easily chill up to 12 gallons however, still takes quite awhile on a warm day. I would recommend biting the bullet and going for the recirculation chiller or plate to make chilling quicker. Lately I have run the water through the smaller chiller submerged in a bucket of ice water, then through the 5-10 split to cool the wort faster.

Excellent
This has been a fantastic wort chiller for me. It works perfectly as advertised. It is an excellent immersion chiller. The craftsmanship was excellent. I have zero complaints about this product.

great chiller
This is actually my second (the first I left in the shed during cold winter months and split the copper pipe) and I love it. I thought long and hard about a chill plate but was concerned about keeping it clean and sanitary. I hook my chiller in line with a March pump and recirculate, getting upwards of 13 gals of wort from boil to 90f in less than 10 mind with an excellent break. I just throw the chiller in last 10 mri s of boil with pump on to sanitize and when I'm done a quick spray with the pressure washer and the chiller is ready to live another day!

Solid piece for 12 gallon batches
I use a half barrel/keg boil kettle. This chiller is a perfect fit for my 12 to 13 gallon boils. If you are using a pump to circulate your mash or to sparge, I recommend that you add the wort chiller re-circulation arm (WC57) to knock down the boil temperature in a hurry, while the whirlpool pushes your trub to the center of the kettle. It's quick, easy and a totally solid build.

5/10 split Wort Chiller
This product is amazing and chills wort very, very fast. I have taken a 5 gal batch and in less than 8 mins I am at pitching temp. Worth every penny spent and has helped improve my beers in a big way. Highly recommend this product.

Works as advertised
Mine lost it's 'split' shape within the first couple of chills BUT it worked to my advantage because I usually brew 5 gallons. It can still be stretched out when doing 10 gallon. Good build quality, would buy again.
