The original purpose of this devise is cooking so it can handle heats up to 392F (200C) without harming the wire. Reads in Fahrenheit or Celsius. Do not submerge the probe in liquid beyond the point that the cord connects to the top of the probe. This connection is not waterproof and you will damage your probe.
