E.J. Phair's Phat Quail Ale-Extract KIT790
(Makes 5 gallons) J.J. Phair's grandfather, E.J., was an amateur distiller, wine maker and beer maker. J.J., who has been an avid homebrewer since 1990 and a MoreBeer! customer since 1995, decided to keep that tradition alive by opening a 7bbl microbrewery in 2000. His brewery is conveniently located next door to our main Concord, Ca store. The brewery is often the last stop on a tour of the Beer, Beer & More Facilities. Today, E.J. Phair brewing company crafts three ales and three lagers alongside various seasonal specialties. J.J. along with brewer Morgan Cox have a long homebrewing history and this is very evident in their bold, flavorful, yet well-balanced, beers. E.J. Phair can be found on tap and in the bottle at various locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including our Concord, Ca retail showroom. Visit the guys in the brewery or at www.ejphair.com.
Phat Quail
Phat Quail started as seasonal specialty but due to popular demand is now brewed as a regular offering and is on tap at locations all around the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a malty, copper-colored beer with a generous helping of Columbus and Cascade hops. This beer gets a quick second sip from all who taste it because the malt flavor is so uniquely good. When made as an All-Grain recipe (KIT792) it comes with 2-row, vienna, crystal, and flaked wheat malts. J.J. suggests using White Labs English yeast, WLP002.
