Vinnie's "Pliny the Elder" Double IPA (Extract) KIT774
(Makes 5 gallons) Vinnie is back, with a second Double IPA for us. Pliny the Elder comes in at roughly 8% alcohol, with 6 separate hop additions! One of these - Simcoe - we got in just for Vinnie's kit. This beer is named after Gainus Plinius Secondus, or Pliny The Elder, who came up with the botanicle name for hops - lupus salictarius (wolf among scrubs). Sadlly, Pliny died while helping people escape the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in August, 79 AD. (see, who says beer can't make you smarter!) With a light malt base and intense hop flavor, this will give any hop-head a run for his money!
