Lager - Cool Fermentation

Lagers, unlike Ales, are fermented much cooler than most ambient temperatures. The ideal fermentation temperature for most of our Lager beer kits is usually within 48F to 55F. If you want to dive into making Lagers at home (we love them!) you will need a cooled (ideally cooled and controlled) space to put them in. Most home brewers use a spare refrigerator and an Analog Temp Controller or Digital Temp Controller to be able to set an exact fermentation temperature for their home brewed lagers.

Lager fermentations usually only take about 14-21 days in the fermentor before bottling or kegging.
