Description

This 50' x 3/8" coil, manufactured in the MoreBeer! metal shop, is perfect for the enterprising homebrewer who wants to build or upgrade a jockey box. When compared with 5/16" coils that are usually used to make draft boxes, the 3/8" coil holds more beer and offers more surface area for faster cooling. And, because there is less resistance from the larger diameter tubing, the beer can be pushed through the lines with less CO2 pressure. Lower applied CO2 pressure means your beer will not over carbonate and foam wildly if a keg is left on tap for longer than an afternoon. Over-carbonation is often an issue for homebrewers or beer drinkers who are using a draft box for an overnight party or weekend.

8 1/2" wide x 10" tall.

Can you use this as a HERMS coil?
TJ Shively on Apr 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It can be used as a HERMS coil. You must remember that it is 3/8 inch so wont have the throughput that a 1/2 inch will have.

Is it 3/8 od or id?
Jordan on Sep 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is 3/8 Stainless steel tubing. Tubing is spec'd by the OD, therefore, the OD is 3/8" diameter.

Great jockey box coil
This product works great! With my old jockey box coil, which was only 5/16", there seemed to be a lot of back pressure every time you shut off the faucet. You don't see that with this coil. Gets your beer down to serving temp in no time. Great buy!

OMG Works great
I purchased this to add a tap to my travel trailer. Yes, that's right, Home Brew on tap while camping.

I build a custom jockey box under the seat, kegs store in the closet and ice cold beer comes out the tap under the awning. No need to leave my chair.

It's fantastic!

I'm thinking about adding a second tap.
