Vienna lager made with this malt as 100% of grain bill
I use this malt to make Vienna lagers. It’s almost 100% of the malt bill but I use black prinz less than 2% to give it an amber color without changing the flavor. Lovely flavor. Does not need any other malts to make a good Vienna!

My Desert Island Malt
I love Weyermann Vienna malt so much, if I had to choose only one base malt for the rest of my life it would probably be this. Just the right mix of bready/toasty and it's very versatile. A little bit goes into almost all of my batches and it's frequently the majority of my recipe!

Worth the extra money? Yea, I'd say it is.
I've tried 4 batches of beer now using this and the domestic which is about half the price and I have to say in my opinion, this wins. It's difficult to find words for why, but the beers I've made with this were clearly superior. Yea, it's pricey. I"d say the best way to describe this is, it's easier to balance a beer using this vs something with less character. I use this in my Pale Ale and while the stuff made with the domestic malt is good, the same recipe with this is irresistible. Give it a try, even just the aroma in the bag tells you there's something special here.

Why not?
I like to make American style ales but with variety. I bought this as an experiment to see what changes I notice in my existing recipes. One nice thing about MoreBeer is that I don't have to buy a 50lb sack to find out. I know I am getting fresh product everytime for a reasonable price. Now with their fast shipping it is even better.
