Advice from brewer friend for dispensing beer from 2.5g kegs in lieu of bottling beer. 5 of us participate periodically in the brewing, set up into the fermentation vessels, and clean up!

Is the top threaded or does it just pop off? I bought one years ago and can't recall. It's stuck on there.
Justin Leeming on Aug 20, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Mine spun off with some warm water. No threads.
Can the top be unscrewed to access the shanks just in case you want to change the lines out?
Nikolas Aizpuru on Aug 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Nikolas - Yes, the top is removable for access to the shanks and general servicing.

Looks nice, freezes open and makes a mess.
This tower looks sharp, but the faucets have a habit of sticking open. Internals of the faucet are prone to freezing due to residual sugar building up over days of no use. It becomes difficult to open. Even worse, occasionally when you try to close the tap, the handle will be in the closed position but pressurized beer will continue to flow. I have had to scrub down my laundry room floor twice after beer free flowed until I could depressurize the keg or disconnect the tap line. On one of the occasions, I almost broke off the plastic handle that comes with the tower by trying to close the tap. I've used it for roughly four batches and flush the faucet internals between every swap, but I continue to see the issue. It is not as functional as I would have liked, and I will probably look to change out the faucet type.

Very nice but slight drip
Very nice, easy to install. Only negative is it continues to drip occasionally after pouring beer. Also I had to cut off the hose attachment and put on a ball lock connection to use my keg, but very easy.

Looking for a 3rd
I have 2 of these and I'm looking for a 3rd. I bought some perlick faucets to replace 1 set of faucets and compare but have yet to set them up. The faucets do get stuck when not used. Cleaning fixes that.

You also have to improve the airflow of your kegerator as the towers are far from the beer and a warm house warms your beer.

Great value
The tower is solid, the taps work well, but can get sticky if you don't clean them frequently.

Great bang for your buck
I think bang for your buck, this is a great deal. I bought mine in Feb. of 2012, and it's still holding up well. The taps are your normal chrome style, so they will get sticky if you do not clean regularly or pour from them every day.

Great tower. OK taps
The tower is very solid and looks great mounted on my mini fridge. The taps are OK but will probably need to be upgraded at some point.
