MoreBeer! MoreCoffee!

Jonathan Plise is our resident Lager expert.  He loves to brew on his homemade system, which is a modified MoreBeer! Brewsculpture adjusted to fit his kettles he got from the MoreBeer! Showroom Bargain Bin.   He has made plenty of award-winning beers.  Recently, he has gotten back into brewing partial boil mini-step mashes to save time.

In 2005, Jonathan took a Gold Medal at the National Homebrew Competition for an American Light Lager, and a Silver with a Strong Scotch Ale (So happened to be MoreBeer!'s recipe.)  That same year he started up The Brewing Network with his partner Justin Crossley.  In 2006, he Co-Founded the Jamil Show, a free downloadable podcast on how to brew every style of beer on the BJCP style guidelines.  Later that Fall, he won California Homebrewer of the Year! sponsored by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. He took the $500 winnings and upgraded his studio with an electronic drum kit.

In 2008, Jonathan released a solo album entitled, Blue, showcasing his many talents as a guitar player and a solid rock drummer.  It took Plise 3 years to record, produce, remix, and have remastered before releasing.

During the summer of 2008, Jon Plise retired from the brewing network to pursue his interests in winemaking where his energies went toward having his winery website made.   For more info regarding his pursuits of winemaking go to: www.plisewinery.com. In 2010 he released his first professional vintage, a Cabernet Sauvignon from Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California.

He is an advocate for gluten free brewing and offers free information on how to brew gluten free beer at glutenfreecraftbeer.com
