Specialty Malts

Unlike Base Malts, which make-up the majority of the grain bill and provide most of the sugars and the enzymes in our beer recipes, Specialty Malts are used in proportionally smaller amounts to add body, flavor and character to our beers. Specialty malts are a great tool for improving head-retention and are instrumental in creating the color of various beer styles, such as Red & Brown ales, Stouts & Porters.
